Sunday morning training. A full beginners group this week, again with dogs of varying ages and abilities, so each exercise was tailored so all could achieve. Main focus being on obedience.
Just a few in the novice class this week, where we concentrated on split retieves, blinds into cover and straight lines over increasing distances.

Back to it this Sunday for the weekly training.
Just 2 pups in the first group, each at very different places in their education, so we tailored the exercises to suit and ensure both achieved.
Novice group focused on splits, direction and building confidence on blind retieves.

It's been a busy week so apologies for the lack of posting. Quick summary of the week.....
Monday we had a shootover, a lovely day with like minded folk working our dogs on some fantastic ground. What more could you ask 😊
Tuesday some 1-2-1 dog training lessons and a shooting lesson for me.
Wednesday morning was spent running a training session for the Korthals Griffon Club where we focused on basic whistle commands, recall and some simple seen retieves
Friday - a rough shooting day with a friend.
Saturday was spent picking up on a driven day where I was joined by a trainee who had never experienced a shoot before. An enjoyable and informative day.
Finally, today I took a trip to Wales for a session with the Hiraethog Hunt Point Retrieve Association (Proposed).
Now home and off to the RKC HPR Championships.....wish us luck πŸΆπŸ€πŸ€

A busy weekend.
Saturday picking up on a duck shoot ending with some duck flighting.
Then Sunday morning weekly training where we simulated some mock picking up and asking dogs to search an area. Useful skills for the shooting / competition field.

Sunday training yesterday. Weekly sessions starting with the beginners group - some new puppies joined this week so we focused on plenty of obedience and some simple retieves, also some more challenging tests set for those further along with their training.
Novice group worked on direction, stop and direct, then finished with some long seems off the launcher.
After the novice class was a 1-2-1 with a new handler then home to walk my own dogs.
A busy Sunday 😊

Great few days away trialling last week. Friday was not our day, Bryson got a little too excited and we put ourselves out. Then on up to Scotland where it all came together and we were lucky to bag a 2nd place. Congratulations to all in the awards.
As always thank you to the clubs, judges, land owners, guns and all others involved in putting these trials on.
