This boy has stolen a piece of my heart.❤️ This is Jack, he is 14 years old & has been coming to Shampoochies for the last 8 years. He is absolutely golden to groom. Being an older gentleman he has had quite a few teeth removed but he still loves & manages his treats very well.😋x

❤️Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, here are some of my doggies that have been in for their valentines grooms.❤️ Baby & Tommy came in for their valentines pamper.💗💙 Salty came in for her 3 monthly shampoo & tidy up.😍 And mom & son Teddy & Tiny also came in for their 3 monthly shampoochies.🥰x Thank you to Baby & Tommy’s owner Michelle Wood for the help with the valentines accessories.😊x

🐾ANOUNCEMENT🐾 2024 was a challenging year for Shampoochies having to make the decision to no longer provide a mobile grooming service & to ‘work from home.’ Im so grateful to all of my customers & doggies that stayed with me & totally understand reasons why others couldn’t-I still miss all of those doggies even now.😢 But I’ve been fortunate enough to have lots of lovely new doggies come my way & im at a point now where I need to close my books again. For any new customers looking to book appts I now have a waiting list open. Thank you to all my customers for your support & recommendations it really is appreciated.🥰

This handsome chap is Bonzo, he is 13 years young!🤩 Bonzo is a rescue & has been coming to Shampoochies for the last 6-7 years. He comes in every 8 weeks for a little wash, dry & tidy up.😍 He is the best boy & always manages to sniff out the treats.😋x

This lovely girl is Margaux!💕 She is 6 years old & has been coming to Shampoochies since she was a pup. Margaux comes in for her 3 monthly pamper. She is the happiest girl, loves her bath & would roll around in the water if I let her!😂 She is not so keen on the dryer as with most frenchies but a few treats always help.😋x

🐾TOP TIPS FOR LONG HAIRED/CURLY COAT DOG BREEDS
🐾 Brush as often as you can
🐾Use a leave in conditioner/detangler when brushing
🐾The best & only brush you should need is a slicker brush-please ask your groomer how to use them correctly as used incorrectly can cause pain & discomfort-avoid any brushes with pin heads as they catch in & pull the knots which is very uncomfortable for your dog
🐾Try not to wash in between grooms-if you do wash your dog dry with a hair dryer if you can, if you let your dog dry naturally this is when the fur knots/gets tangled together
🐾If your dog does not like the dryer use a leave in conditioner/detangler & brush your dogs coat when it is wet-splitting the fur with a brush also helps it dry quicker
🐾Don’t be tempted to leave your dogs fur longer in the winter, all the mud & wet will cause your dogs fur to knot up even more & with all that mud you will be tempted to wash them more again creating more knots if not dried & brushed correctly
🐾If you choose to leave your dogs fur longer I recommend booking in for a full groom every 4-6 weeks with maintenance at home
🐾Please do not wait until your dog is knotty or matted before you book them in for a groom, if a metal comb will not go through your dogs coat from the skin out then neither will any clipper comb so it more than likely will need to be shaved or clipped short-please also bare in mind that this is a very uncomfortable experience for the dog & can result in them resisting/not tolerating being groomed at all in the future
🐾Unless requested by the owner, groomers will only shave dogs if we feel it’s the only & best option for your dog.🐶

🐾Did you know that there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog?🐾

It is wrongly assumed that it is fur that causes allergies, when in actual fact it’s more than likely that the allergy is caused by the dander (doggy dandruff-which is dead skin cells) and/or protein in a dogs saliva & skin glands. So yes you can get dog breeds that shed less but this does not make them hypoallergenic.🐶 Photo courtesy of the lovely Scrumpy.💜x
