Daisy wants to remind you about the Christmas Party THIS SUNDAY! 🎉

From 3pm-5pm. There will be mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies and of course a little show with the horses.

The winter has well and truly hit the yard! Thank goodness for all our amazing staff who keep it looking as clean as possible with all the mud and rain.

There’s so much that goes on behind the scenes to running a yard and it’s hard laborious work. So full appreciation to our fantastic yard staff.

As a thank you to all our wonderful students, we welcome you all to the yard for our Christmas Party.

It’s our way of thanking you for choosing to be part of our family, we know the commitment it takes to horse ride and choosing us as part of your journey is something we’re so grateful for.

It’s an evening of fun, merriment and excitement (nothing quite like watching those jumps get higher and higher 🫣).

Oh and let’s not forget our visit from Father Christmas himself!

These are now available to book on our online system on Friday 22nd December or Friday 29th December.

They’ll run from 10am-2pm and costs £65.

Great placing for our HCRA dressage riders at last week. We’re so mega proud of how well so many of our students are doing!

Don’t forget we have some dressage day outs coming up! So if you fancy trying your hand at dressage (whether you’re completely new to this or not) get yourself involved! There’s no pressure at all with placing, it’s about the fun, the experience and learning an incredible skill. A rosette is the icing on top 👊🏼

Four rosettes from 1st place to 4th for all of our students who took part in our first dressage competition at Brook Farm.

Our epic instructor Rosa Thatcher Khan will be taking more students over the winter months- if you want to try some dressage you can! Just book using the online booking system.

You can get your practice in with Rosa at the school, and on the day she’ll be there calling out to let you know where to go in the arena.

It might have rained and it might have been windy (Friday 13th I reckon is at play) but what an amazing and beautiful hack we had.

Three women and Helen, all chatting away while the horses and ponies took them around the beautiful countryside surrounding the yard.

Who’s up for some dressage? 🏆

Expert dressage rider and one of our instructors; Rosa, will be taking our students to Brook Farm on the specified dates to compete on our school horses and ponies.

Who wants a go? First date is October 27th 👏🏼

We are now able to offer “ride a pony lessons” for those as young as 3 to the age of 6.

These group lessons will offer that taste into horse riding for those littles under the guidance of our fully trained instructors.

These are priced at £25 and occur every Saturday at 11am.

On the booking system you can find it under group sessions. 👌🏼🎠

Poppy was in the lead rein class with Boy being led by Liv. And this was Amelie’s first ever show riding Lulu.

Some of our adult riders ride just for leisure, others want to learn the competitive side of things and some just want an enjoyable hobby where they can simply connect with nature.

The best thing is meeting other like minded adults who can join you on the same journey.

We’re hoping to set up a weekly hacking session during the week between school hours for those of you that work from home/want or need that time to yourself mid week or those of you that want to hack out but want to go in a group.

How does a weekday hack sound?

Lots of fun, games, pony riding and interaction with a little Halloween edge… do you dare go on a forest hack riding a ghost pony 👻

Fancy dress encouraged and bring your own pumpkin to decorate.

Horse riding offers so much more than many realise, those that do the sport know of the many benefits.

But for those that are maybe on the fence… there’s so much more to horses than you realise:

📍Riding horses is a physical activity that engages various muscle groups, improves posture, and enhances core strength. It’s also cardiovascular exercise and helps with overall fitness and endurance. 💪

📍Being around horses has a calming effect on humans and they reduce our stress and anxiety. The bond formed with horses can provide emotional support and companionship. ❤️

📍Horses teach us responsibility, empathy and communication skills. Learning to care for and ride horses can enhance problem solving abilities. 🧠

📍Horses have proved beneficial for individuals with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges. Interacting with horses can improve balance, coordination and muscle strength. They also promote emotional healing and boosting self confidence. ⚖️

There’s just so much horses do for us humans, it’s no wonder we become obsessed by them.

We have some incredible students jumping as well as Megan; one of our instructors, who will be jumping the 80cm course with Ted and Sharon; our yard manager, will be doing the 50cm course with Chester.

Today Dottie rode Roger at Brook Farm. They came 4th out of 12 in the British Novice class. Roger is still very young and new to the sport, so this is really quite a huge achievement! Mega proud here at HCRA 👏🏼

How many people does it take to get head groom Sharon on 18hh MJ?🤣 MJ is the sweetest horse, (I realise he’s kicking back in the videos but this is from ulcer memory and nothing naughty). He loves his daily hacks but he’s never been good standing next to a mounting block- he just can’t stand still and wants to be off.
