After almost 10 fabulous years, we have decided this is the right time to open a new chapter in our lives; not least with grand parenting and other family responsibilities.
Therefore we have decided to close Best Paw Forward one2one training and classes from the end of this month. Our online training platform will remain open until December 24. - more information on this to come.

It has been an incredible journey for us and we could not have done it without the support of our clients and your furry companions.

You have all been great fun and a pleasure to work with.

We leave with fond memories and wish you and your adorable dogs all the best.

Fun dog show 🐾❤️

We’re very excited to be running our dog show again at this year’s Muirhead and Chryston Gala Day!!!!! The gala is in Park just beside our Muirhead branch!

Anyone who’s free please come and see us and enter your pooch in any of these categories-as many as you like! £2 per entry all money goes to charity! We’ll also be having our usual stall with our tombola and our vets and nurses will be demonstrating their skill and letting you guys try it!

You can enter in advance either by popping into the practice or giving us a call!! The dog show starts at 11am!

We are really excited to announce that we are holding an information evening at our Bearsden branch on the 9th May to discuss pain management in your pets. One of our vets Charis will be discussing medical and alternative treatment options to ensure optimum vitality and pain management for your mature pets and any pets living with chronic pain.

Did you know we have a number of individual/one2one training packages?

These packages can take place at home, in the park, out and about in your local environment. Mostly importantly they are tailored to suit the needs of you and your dog/puppy.

Some common training support we give would be

February is Pet Dental Month Although it is important to always be aware of your dog's dental hygiene, February gives pet professionals a time to really highlight the benefits of good dental hygiene. Do you brush your dog's teeth? This is something that is easily introduced when dogs are young, however it's not impossible even at an older age. We discuss this as part of our puppy courses, however many vet practices and their nurses offer tooth brushing tutorials which can be a great way to get you started. If your dog really doesn't appreciate getting their teeth brushed there are many other options available, talk to your vets form a suitable alternative for your dog. Have a look at our tooth brushing video for some ideas to get you started.

Today is National Puzzle Day and puzzles are not only for people. Dogs hugely benefit from using their brain and in fact this can helps with many behaviours that we often find challenging. The lovely Lexie is demonstrating one puzzle game which she has mastered but there are lots available and many DIY options as well. Last night was our last agility session before giving up the training unit. Our puppy group classes and home/one2one sessions will still continue to run but there will sadly be no more agility 😢. We've loved the agility over the years and seen lots of very happy dogs. We'll miss everyone but please keep in touch with us and keep an eye on our page for any social events of interest

Our Journey

At Best Paw Forward Dog Training we take a modern, force free approach to dog training. Our aim is to create a lifelong bond of trust between owners and their dogs with kind and effective methods of training.

Best Paw Forward was established in 2014. Owners Tracy and Lynn have been working together for the past 20 years; previously as Registered Veterinary Nurses in the Glasgow area. Their interest in the welfare of dogs developed during this period with a particular passion towards puppy development, training and dog behaviour.

We currently offer a variety of training and behavioural packages to suit every individual client and their dog. Our hugely popular and successful one-to-one sessions offer a choice of three unique training packages, individually tailored around your own specific requirements. To complement our individual sessions, we also operate classes in Bearsden and Bishopbriggs, where we encourage all ages to get enthusiastic about training their dogs. Classes are kept small, usually around six dogs, giving you and your dog a more personal and tailored experience.
