We've spent the day doing some maintenance on Fylde Dog Field, making small improvements to the facility for you and your furbabies!

During the day, a few things have come to light....

Whoever is leaving a beer bottle treasure hunt around the field, please use the bin provided rather than just leaving them next to our trees.

Please remember to pick up after yourselves and your dogs and use the bin provided by the entrance to the field.

Sticking to your time slot is important as it means reactive dogs won't meet each other, and there aren't several cars parked on the road simultaneously.

If you smoke whilst on the field, please don't leave cigarette ends lying around. Puppies may pick these up before I get a chance to clear up after you!

We are doing all we can to provide you with the best facility possible. We don't like to moan and would like to thank the majority that do their part in keeping it tidy.

XL BULLY update
Great news!!😃We are fully insured for XL Bully's to enjoy the field!
A few rules for XL Bully owners:
🐾 Your dog must be kept on lead and muzzled until the gate is locked behind you.
🐾 Your XL should be the only dog on the field.
🐾 Only the owner is allowed to be on the field with the dog.
🐾 When booking, you must select an XL Bully slot and submit your insurance and exemption documents.
🐾 Before unlocking the gate and leaving, your dog must be on its lead and muzzled.

Quick update for you all, we've closed for a couple of weeks due to all the horrible weather we've had recently. We're still waiting for a decision on the planning application to remain open and will update you with any information when we find out. ℹ 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦 – We are aware of numerous posts on social media regarding Canine Parvovirus (parvo) in some of Blackpool’s parks. We have not had any confirmed cases reported to our Dog Warden team.

However, as parvovirus can be very contagious, here’s some advice from the RSPCA on how to help keep your pooches safe.

𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
• Parvovirus is preventable. Vaccinations can protect dogs from the devastating effects parvovirus can have. All puppies should be vaccinated against parvovirus at 8 weeks, with a second dose administered 2-4 weeks later. They will be vulnerable to the disease until both doses have been received, which means owners must take extra precaution during this period. Dogs require an annual booster to maintain a high level of protection against the virus.

• As the virus is caught by contact with faeces from infected dogs, we ask residents, as always, to ensure they bag up any dogs mess and place in the nearest bin.

• Please contact your vet if you have any concerns about your dogs health or need vaccination advice.

❗️ Important Notice ❗️
Unfortunately the field will be closed for a couple of weeks whilst we carry out some important maintenance. We are going to be improving the facility and planting lots of grass seed so we can make the field even more enjoyable for you and your dogs. The good news is, this will massively improve the field and hopefully reduce the muddy patches. The bad news is we have to close for a couple of weeks to let the grass grow. We are so sorry for the inconvenience but we will be back open before you know it and looking even better than ever before! 🐶🐕🐶

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has used the field lately for clearing up after their dogs and using the bin provided! We have filled in quite a few holes today and would like to ask everyone to keep an eye on their pooches for digging so we can provide the best facility we can for all users. 🐶🐕😁

**Great news!!**
We've had our planning application approved and would like to thank you for your support throughout.

We have some new rules that have been put in place by the council. We have to close at dusk and the maximum number of dogs allowed is 4. If you have a future booking that will be affected by these rules please get in touch and we will refund your session.

Thank you again to all our loyal customers who have supported us. We are delighted that we are able to keep the facility open for you and your dogs 😁🐕🐶

A perfect afternoon for some maintenance and a tidy up. We've done some mowing so there is a great combination of short grass, long grass, bark chippings and trees for your dogs to enjoy. You may also see our new bin poking through between the trees. We had it delivered in July to make it easier for you keep the field clean. 🐶🐕🌞

A reminder that if you have sessions booked and want to reschedule due to the amount of rain we've had, get in touch and we will happily move them for you. The field is very wet and muddy, just like everywhere else at the moment 🐕🌧

With the current weather the field is obviously very wet! 🌧🌧 We aren't going to close as we know this is the only opportunity some of your dogs get for their off lead time. There is quite a nasty virus going around at the moment. If your dog shows any signs of being unwell please DO NOT attend your session. Contact us and we will fully refund or reschedule your session for when they are better. If your dog is ill whilst using the field please contact us immediately so we can deal with it in a timely manner to keep other dogs from catching anything. The vets are reporting it as quite a nasty sickness and diarrhea bug that is spreading very easily. Please be responsible in keeping your dog and other dogs safe. Thanks

Mother nature gave us a storm! We gave you a shelter!! 😀☔️ Winter has definitely arrived so we thought the humans can stay dry whilst throwing the ball for their dogs. We even put a bench in as we've had a few requests for a seat at the field. 🐶🐕😁
