It’s been a busy couple of weeks here at JL Equine Services with Holiday Liveries, Yard Covers, schooling, Clipping, Holding horses for the vet and mane and tail trims. Time to relax this weekend and hopefully enjoy the sunshine and get in a hack or two with my girl 🐴

💈Tidy Up Thursday 💈
After a very sweaty hack Lila needed a hair cut 🤣
Full clip with blended face and legs left on to keep her legs warm this winter. Also left a saddle patch to avoid any irritation as she is very sensitive when clipped.
Think you’ll all agree she’s looks super 👌
Also look at the shine (pre hot cloth) just shows a good bath the day before makes for a super duper clip 💓

Had the pleasure of looking after siy yesterday while his mum enjoyed a lovely day out at Defender Bramham Horse Trials.
Rug change, Turned out, mucked out, nets & water done, brought in, rug changed again and tea given 🥰
When you get to ride your friends horse and they video so I actually get some footage of me riding 🤣🤣
Big baby Gino had his first mane trim and now looks like a super grown up boy 💙🦄
He was a little ticklish and unsure at first but with the use of the solocomb and lots of treats from his mummy he soon settled down and let me carry on 😍

I can’t cope ☔️
No one wanted to work in that amount of rain yesterday 🌧️☔️💧 so it was decided that it would be a trimming day ✂️💇♀️💈 and it turned out superb just look how gorgeous daisy 🌼 looks again 🐴🥰💖
I had to use a few different ways to get this mane looking fabulous. First the solocomb as I don’t like the old way of pulling manes 😫🫣😢 for the top half as it needed to be thinned and shortened, then the scissors for the middle bit as it’s super fine and just needed trimming to length then finished off near the withers with the pro levelling knife to shorten the hair without thinning. For the tail I used Smart Grooming tail rake 🥰🥰🥰 Quick and easy with no pain for the horse

This is Amber a Welsh x with a huge amount of coat 😲 a few weeks ago we gave her a bib clip to help with sweating. She was getting hot and sweaty when ridden. Despite a bib clip and turned out with no rug she was still rather sweaty 🥵 so a full clip was decided upon 👌
She will feel much more comfortable now 😁
Omg I’ve been waiting for this for so long and now they have brought out a covercoat blade 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Look at these cuties 3yo Blaze and Betty Boo the Shetland had a lovely makeover at the weekend 🥰🥰🥰
They won’t be as hot and itchy now and easier to keep clean as they both had mountains of hair. Thanks to my Liveryman Black Beauty’s they coped fantastically as always they are my fav clipper

At the beginning of last year this mare was very footy and desperately needed shoes.
