Now the weather is warming up ,this means that those pesky, itchy bugs are coming out to play !

I strongly advise a veterinary prescription strength flea and tick treatment to be used as directed by your vet as a preventive measure.

While I thoroughly clean and disinfect the salon between dogs as well as every night and use Indorex, an environmental flea spray, in the salon , I cannot control the environment outside the salon where your pet may visit on walks or where you,the owner ,may also visit or meet with other dogs.

If fleas are found on your pet during the groom I will continue the groom but there will be an additional charge of £20 on top of your normal grooming bill , this covers the use of flea shampoos on your dog ( there are no cat safe flea shampoos that are effective due to the ingredients being toxic) ,the use of flea shampoo on the rest of my dogs for the day as well as an additional deep clean and use of the environmental spray in the salon to prevent other pets catching fleas .

While I hope you will never have to deal with an infestation and I do appreciate that these things can't be helped.

I now have very limited availability until the week commencing 13th May, cat and rabbit grooms will have a longer wait due to needing to have the salon completely to themselves.

To avoid waiting for an appointment or not being able to get the time and day you need or worse , not being able to fit you in at all , please book your next appointment when you drop off or collect your pet for grooming. I am happy to book your appointments for the full year if you know you want a Tuesday at 10am every 6 weeks . By booking this way it also means you are guaranteed an appointment around the busiest periods of the year AND an appointment for Christmas.

Please can I ask for your continued patience with me while my sister is in hospital. This is the difference between a well brushed coat and a mattes coat where the top layer has been brushed and not down to the skin or where the wrong tools have been used. If a groomer says your dog is matted even though you brush your pet ,the chances are you're just skimming the top layer and what the groomer is feeling is the matted coat thats hidden beneath the brushed layer. We dont shave dogs off for fun . We put human before vanity and we wont tug and pull at coats causing pain and discomfort just for the sake of a pretty groom. Regular professional grooming plus using the right tools and regular brushing at home will prevent matting. If you need advice on the right tools or if you need to be shown how to brush properly, your groomer will be more than happy to help !
