🚨 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Unfortunately, we must inform you of the cancellation of our scheduled Puppy Yoga Session due to unforeseen circumstances.

While this decision was not made lightly, we encountered unexpected challenges that have made it impossible for us to proceed with the session as planned.

We understand that this news may come as a disappointment to the majority of you. It has been really disheartening that a few people have ASSUMED we are like other Puppy Yoga Sessions.

This wasn’t just a pop up shop and we didn’t just decide to do it overnight with no research into puppy health, welfare and regulations.

We are aware of the 3 sites looked into by the RSPCA and are completely disgusted with how the puppies were treated.
We have been looking into to getting this type of practice regulated so animals are treated accordingly and protected because if we can’t protect them who can 😔

With one partner from a Law background and worked with dogs for many years (also trained in hydrotherapy for dogs and canine first aid) and the other partner a Pharmacist and 500hr+ Yogi - we wanted to bring a Puppy Yoga class that did not have the same values or practices that the others did. Just solely to bring some joy and happiness into our negative, chaotic world… for both humans and animals.

We have only chosen to work with very, small selective licensed breeders. Hence why we haven’t got classes every week, or even several times a day like the others. These pups aren’t there to work or perform like circus animals. (Or indeed perform yoga or be used as gym equipment. Yes really… they were some of the accusations! 🤯)

We have a very strong waiver that everyone must agree to. We also refuse to hold large classes so the pups have gradual interaction with their human friends.

We just want to thank everyone who showed us so much love and knew that we had the best intentions for our little puppies. Unfortunately a minority of people decided to tar everybody with the same brush, without even experiencing it for themselves, and ruined it for the good people out there.

Sending puppy love and light

I don’t want to rise to any negativity, however when judgment is passed before knowledge and experience on something I feel like both sides should be heard.
Due to someone’s reaction with regards to puppy yoga and tarnishing it I thought maybe I should provide some more detailed information for people that haven’t attended or spoken with us to ask questions so here goes (will be a long post so make a cuppa ☕️ 🤣)

The breeders that we have accepted to work with in future sessions are breeders we know extremely well and not a list of just random breeders pushing their puppies forward. This is why we don’t have classes on consistently as this wouldn’t be fair on the puppies they are not workers they are their for fun, exploring a new surrounding and some much wanted snuggles 🥰 some of the breeders we have accepted work in veterinary surgeries and clinics and have knowledge of dogs for over 20 plus years. So not just the average Joe next door. (Sorry Joe 👋🏼)

The puppies cannot attend if they have not been vaccinated and had the all clear from the vets. No puppies are being bred to take part in puppy yoga as we pay a contribution that would not be substantial to make any logical sense. Especially by the time the puppies can take part they are ready for their next adventure going to their new homes 🏠

We send out a waiver 48 hours prior to your class as we do have some strict rules and the do’s and don’ts with the puppies. Their welfare is our number one priority, we want their first experience of the world to be positive and not detrimental. Even before the class start we do refresh you onto handling and when to handle and not, as we want puppies to have a safe space to roam and also take a little snooze in their own private area. As for a comment I have seen regarding if puppies have an accident on someone’s clothes will they be launched across the room absolutely is astounding! I’m sure I can talk for everyone when I say who in their right mind would do that or even think that 🤯!!

Also a member of the team is trained in canine first aid with years of experience working with dogs. This is added benefit that most places don’t have and haven’t even thought of.

I do however, understand the current climate of the over capacitated animal shelters, unfortunately this has increased immensely since lockdown. There is absolutely no coloration with Puppy Yoga and the influx of people surrendering their dogs to shelters. That issues needs to be taken up with the families that purchase these dogs and don’t see them as a member of their family and dispose of them after they are no longer small and cute.

As most of you can assume that not much yoga is done 🤣 as everyone is so distracted by wagging tails running around coming over to say hello, we do try to do some stretches and some calming techniques throughout the session but I can assure you there’s nothing that needs much movement due to the risk of maybe catching a dog so a puppy being “kicked across the room” as I’ve seen it’s definitely never going to happen🫣

I feel that RSPCA’s statement with regards to the Puppy Yoga they visited I think they had every right to come to their conclusion on that establishment, with puppies having no water no rules and no place of sanctuary if they want this. However you can’t tar everyone with the same brush, we have all of the above and everyone that has come to our sessions I’m sure would agree.

Sorry for the strict and straight to the point post but it would be really appreciated for questions to be asked before assumptions are made.

Thank you to all our lovely people that attended on Saturday we had the best day and so did the puppies (the videos speak for themselves 🤣)

Our Ethics

With some of the media attention regarding puppy yoga we wanted to express our ethics.

Our number one priority at all times is the puppies 🐶 we have a member of the team who solely focuses on the welfare of the puppies.

We have set rules that yogis need to follow during our classes. At all times the puppies need to be treated with kindness, respect and gentleness. If the puppies are feeling tired throughout the class they have a sleeping area to take a well needed break. If the puppies go to the area then we need to respect their boundaries and do not disturb them. We want this to be a positive environment for the puppies as this will be their first experiences with the big wide world 🌍

We only accept ethical breeders to work with us, these breeders are vetted and the puppies are brought up in loving home environments 🏠 🩷

Puppies are of age and will be vaccinated however we do still want to keep everything as clean and sanitised and we will be using parvo disito help protect these babies at all costs. 🧼

We have a wealth of experience with puppies and also yogis and that will come with a great knowledge which we will pass onto you.

Our sessions will be limited and only a set amount of tickets for each class as we want to work ethically with our puppies and make sure you get one and one time with little bundles of joy.

As animal lovers we will be doing events to help support animal welfare charities for dogs of all backgrounds and rehoming centres. As every dog deserve a chance of a loving family 🥰
