Happy rehoming day for Neil.
He arrived here last year as part of a group of feral ponies who had never been handled and were terrified of human contact. The team have worked hard to get them to a stage where they can be rehomed and we were super proud to see Neil load perfectly and set off for his new home this morning.

Jammy arrived here last year as part of a group of feral horses who had lived out on the Welsh moors. They were totally unhandled and it took our team months to win their trust and allow us to handle them. Jammy is now a confident pony who lives out in the field but comes in on a regular basis so that Taylor can develop his education. He is good to catch and lead in from the field. He now enjoys human contact and is good to groom bath & for the farrier.
He is 3 years old and is ready to rehome as a companion with potential. For more information please have a look at our website - https://bit.ly/3tCP00Q

There are plenty more classes at shows this summer so do have a look at their page for more information & keep us updated with your progress. If you need help with your entries please just ask

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Summer Fair today, we raised around £2000 which will all go to help look after the ponies in our care. Special thank you to our stall holders, Archers Archery Club ( www.saxonarchers.com ), Creation Station Blackpool and of course our fab volunteers & yard team who took care of all the activities. We also really appreciate the support of our entertainers Lauren Hope Music and Blackpool Gem Morris Dancers, everyone loved the perfomances and they were a great addition to the day.
Raffle winners have all been contacted to collect prizes except Amelia Childrens Raffle Ticket 456 - 460 (no phone number on ticket so please DM us if thats your ticket!). For anyone who entered the "guess the weight" weight competition Champ weighed 554 kgs, well done to Chris who was spot on.

For those of you following Owens story unfortunately he has taken a turn for the worse this week and been readmitted to the vets. He was found to have other issues and the decision was made to put him to sleep. It is a very sad outcome especially as he was so young, but the right one for him. RIP little one

Owen has given us all cause for concern this week. During morning field checks last Friday the team found him very lethargic, with swollen eyes and struggling to pass urine. Oakhill Equine Vets came to see him and it was unclear if he had colic or peritonitis so he went into the clinic for more tests. It transpired that it was a serious infection and after 5 days of intravenous medication and some worrying times he is now on the mend. He has come back to the farm where he will continue with oral medication, be closely monitored by the team and of course given lots of TLC.

👣 It's really not long at all now before we'll be setting off to walk 25 miles - one mile for every year in business - to raise vital funds for World Horse Welfare! It's a long way but we've all trained hard and are ready (almost!) for the main event, when we set off on the 15th June.

🏰 We're walking from Bamburgh Castle in the north, 25 miles down the beautiful Northumbrian coastline to Warkworth Castle. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported us thus far as each and every donation gives us a much needed boost to keep putting one foot in front of the other during training and your continued support will keep our motivation up on the day.

🦄 Sadly, Quartz the pony can't join us on the big day, but had to be included in this group shot as our Finance Manager, Sarah Ince, has recently rehomed him from World Horse Welfare Penny Farm. You'll have to watch this space to see if Diesel the dog joins us on the day! 🥰

To follow our training adventures and to make a donation, please use this link to our JustGiving page 👉 bit.ly/Westgate-Walk-For-WHW 🙏
