Kennel cough, also known as canine infectious tracheobronchitis, is a highly contagious respiratory infection in dogs. It is typically caused by a combination of bacteria and viruses, including Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine parainfluenza virus, and canine adenovirus.
The symptoms of kennel cough may vary in severity but commonly include:
1. Persistent cough: Dogs with kennel cough often have a dry, hacking cough that may sound like they are trying to clear their throat. The cough can be triggered by excitement, exercise, or pressure on the trachea.
2. Sneezing and nasal discharge: Some dogs may experience sneezing and a clear or white nasal discharge.
3. Lethargy: Infected dogs may appear tired, have reduced energy levels, and be less interested in usual activities.
4. Loss of appetite: Kennel cough can cause a temporary loss of appetite in some dogs.
5. Fever: Occasionally, dogs with kennel cough may develop a mild fever.
6. Watery eyes: Some dogs may have increased tear production or watery eyes.
It is important to note that these symptoms can also be caused by other respiratory conditions, so it is recommended to consult a veterinarian for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

This beautiful girl needs a forever home , her owner has sadly passed away . She’s been with us 3 weeks , she’s a collie cross about 3 years old . We don’t know much about her history as she came via adult social care and we haven’t met her before . She is super friendly , a little nervous so no children . She’s ok with quiet dogs and cats . Loves her food and playing with a ball and super affectionate. She needs someone to love her . Ideally someone that’s at home all day ,
