Press Release: An Appeal for Support for Our Animal Sanctuary

Dear Friends and Supporters,

After months of anticipation, our segment on Escape to the Country finally aired. Unfortunately, our story and sanctuary were only given a few brief seconds on screen. We had hoped that this feature would help showcase our beloved farm and the incredible animals we care for, bringing much-needed attention and support to our mission. We are deeply disappointed, as this was a chance to raise awareness and vital funds that would make a meaningful difference in the lives of our animals.

Over the years, I’ve poured my heart—and my resources—into providing a safe and nurturing environment for every animal that finds a home here. As our sanctuary continues to grow, so do our needs. Currently, we are in urgent need of larger pens, additional sheds for storage, and better shelter spaces to protect our animals, especially as the colder months approach. These improvements are essential for our animals’ comfort and safety, yet my personal funds are stretched thin, and I’ve even taken on debts to ensure our animals receive the care they deserve.

With this in mind, I am reaching out to our community in hopes of gaining the support we missed out on. Please help us spread the word by sharing our story. Every share, donation, and gesture of kindness brings us closer to providing a secure and comfortable sanctuary for our animals.

Our beloved little Utred the bravest donkey you’ll ever meet, recently went through quite the procedure—he had his “family jewels” removed! He handled it like a true champ, showing us all what resilience really means. Even with a little “less” of him, he’s still full of spirit, love, and a touch of mischief. He’s recovering beautifully, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. Utter, you’ll always be our whole world, no matter what. We love you endlessly, brave boy!

🎉 The wait is finally over, and I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! After months of keeping these photos under wraps, I’m so proud to announce that *Escape to the Country* visited Blandford Animal Sanctuary—and we'll be on TV this Monday at 3 PM on BBC 1 BBC 1

In this special episode, you'll get to see some of our beloved sanctuary residents, including the adorable Baby Rocco, Star, and Chocolate when they were just little ones. And, of course, our charming donkey Uhtred, who is such a huge part of our sanctuary family, will be making an appearance too!

I couldn’t be prouder of my little stars and can’t wait to show you all the love, dedication, and joy that goes into caring for these animals. Tune in to see our sanctuary in the spotlight and meet my amazing animal family!

We've got two adorable new faces settling in at the sanctuary last week, Meet Pickles, our cuddly piggy, and Loki, the sweet mini—better known around here as "Cheese and Pickles"! Both came to us solo, but they’ve quickly found the perfect buddy in each other. Now, they spend their days snuggled up and happily sharing carrots. It’s safe to say they’re already the best of friends, and we couldn’t be happier to have them here! 😍
