Meet Seth – who's on the lookout for a new home in the North East. 💙

The 10-year-old Belgian Shepherd retired as a General Purpose dog earlier this year after a stellar service with the Force.

He's now looking for a forever home to deservedly put up his paws and live out the rest of his life as a much-loved pet.

🗣 Sergeant Adam Fegan, who works in our Dog Section, said: “Seth's a fit and well dog who has no health concerns other than old age slowing him down a little.

“He still enjoys his walks but doesn’t need mile-long walks – throwing of a ball or taking a nice stroll would suit him down to the ground.

“Seth’s a large dog at 42kg, but is very obedient, walks closely on and off the leash and has a good standard of other obedience. He loves humans and adores a scratch around the ear. 🐾

“He’s lived his entire life outside so may take a little adjusting to living indoors. He would be best suited with older children in their teens or a home with no other pets.

“He can be dog aggressive, so would need to be walked in fields or areas with little chance of crossing paths with other dogs.”

We are open the following hours over Christmas:

24th December: 10am - 4pm
25th December: Closed
26th December: Closed
27th December: 10am - 4pm
28th December: 10am - 4pm
29th December: 10am - 5pm
30th December: 10am - 5pm
31st December: 10am - 4pm
1st January: Closed.
2nd January onwards: Open as usual.

We can't guarantee delivery before Christmas on any orders placed after 5pm today, but we will certainly try our best!

Throughout the lockdown we remain open as an essential retailer of Pet Food and Accessories. Our opening hours remain the same and we can provide whichever shopping experience you feel most comfortable with, whether that be shopping instore, collecting an order placed in advance or free home delivery if you are in the local area.

We continue to follow all Covid guidelines, including practising social distancing in store, frequently disinfecting surfaces and providing hand sanitiser for our staff and customers to use.

Our free home delivery service is still in operation! If you are in the local area, please give us a call today to place your order or if you'd prefer you can contact us via Facebook.

Hopefully we'll see an end to this mess soon. For now though, we're doing what we can to work through the 'new normal.' We'd like to offer our continued gratitude to our wonderful customers and staff for their respect, tolerance and custom.

Just a little update for our customers following the announcement of the new national lockdown starting on the 5th November.

As an essential retailer, we will be remaining open to serve you all throughout the lockdown, as well as continuing to provide FREE local delivery with a minimum order of just £10.

We will continue our Covid measures in store and continue to operate a non-contact, sanitised service when delivering.

A huge thanks to all of our customers, new and old, for your support, patience and respect throughout all of this. Let's hope that 2021 is better for all of us.

National Black Cat Day was created ten years ago by Cats Protection and is held each year on 27 October to recognise the beauty of black cats.
