Laura Interview
Our Registered Veterinary Nurses and Patient Care Assistants support us and our patients at every turn.
Our Clinical Director, Laura Macfarlane, discusses our incredible nursing team and how, without their integral role, we wouldn't be able to run our hospital to the high standards we do.
Thank you to our fantastic nursing team for their dedication and commitment. Their efforts ensure that all of our patients, clients, and referring vets receive outstanding care.

From speaking to Rotating Intern Kishan it’s clear how crucial our Nurses and Patient Care Assistants are to the care we provide. The vets can only do what they do because of the support they get from their RVN and PCA colleagues.
In his own words “You’re an amazing group of people and we’d be lost without you…thank you”.
Dan is one of our Student Veterinary Nurses – starting his nursing career here at NDSR.
As Dan says everyday is different, and with the support of the wider nursing team it’s people like Dan and his colleagues that will become the RVNs of tomorrow, providing crucial care to all our patients.
To Dan and all our SVNs thank you for everything you do.
As part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month (VNAM) we asked Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia Jodie Hughes how the nursing team support her and her colleagues.
The nurses at NDSR play a key role in helping to devise patient specific anaesthesia plans and are on hand throughout a patient’s time with us to ensure we provide the best possible care and pain relief.
Thank you to all our amazing RVNs. You're truly awesome!
Hear from PCA Team Leader and Supervisor Zoe, about her career journey and progression at NDSR, and the work of our Patient Care Assistants within the hospital.
The role of our PCAs is crucial in everything we do. As well as working closing with the nurses and vets it’s our PCAs that are on hand to provide those essential cuddles and care when our patients might need it most.
To our PCA team you’re all amazing and we love you all. xx
