Is it difficult to identify CPL?

No... Not unless you live in the dark ages or think outdated 💩 like cobs legs naturally look like Nora Batty's tights 🤦‍♀️

Remember at the seminar last year with the world's premier CPL research vet Dr Marieke Brys when she spoke about the unfortunate fact that vets still wrongly think cobs legs are naturally wrinkly? But they're not, it's not healthy or normal... it is CPL and vets need to self-educate to be able to help their clients.

CPL is an incredibly unique presenting disease. Per the research over decades, it can reliably be diagnosed on physical appearance alone. Here's some more info ⬇️

Was lovely to meet these top connemaras's today 😍

But this one needs his own post as he had a complete transformation! Crazy to think how a "clip" can change the look of a horse instantly.

This boy has been completely ruffed off since HOYS and has thoroughly enjoyed living out naked in his winter woolies! But his holidays are now over so off it comes.

As you are all aware there are strangles in the North east (Gateshead/sunniside) area. I spoke to a vet yesterday and only two yards have confirmed strangles and yes more in area are on lock down to be on the safe side.

All clients over that way have been cancelled but I do have all protocols in place. Alll my equipment is sanitised between yards and it has been for years.

At this moment in time I have had another 6 clipping cancellation for next week which is a huge hit for my business. I can imagine this becoming more. These are over 30miles from any confirmed cases.

I understand everyone is panicking but I would never put any clients horse in danger and especially when I have my own horse.

Lovely meeting Mr Aphrodite last night! Martina Wright Equestrian was looking for someone last minute to clip her boy before today's SJ. So once I finished my Saturday clips I headed along to try get him clipped before sun went down. Lightning wasn't on my side so ended up finishing him of with a torch 😅
