BEYOND grateful to be surrounded by such incredible people. Every single time there is a crisis of some kind at LME we are blown away by all the people who turn up to help us, without me ever even having to ask. Thankyou never really seems enough….but for now Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou 🙏🏻🙏🏻💖💖

It became very clear that the ‘Highways Agency’ weren’t going to be able to help us today, maybe not tomorrow and maybe not even the days after that….so….thanks to this amazing man who gave up his time to help us, plus a whole heap of amazing grown ups and children, after three hours of solid work….we have moved the tree!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

As long as the weather is kind to us over night, we will be back open again in the morning 🥰

Well that was NOT the morning we were expecting 😱😱 This morning a ‘Tornado’ swept through Little Margate with no warning. We have all agreed it was the scariest weather event we have ever experienced….i think we were all shaking for a good while afterwards 😬😬 It lifted a trailer up in the air, knocked a pony in the field on to her knees 😢, moved a giant round bale of hay, took down some of our arena fence, picked up and moved our washing machine shed, took down our phone line and took down a huuuuuge tree at our entrance gate 😬 We are all fine if not a little shaken and I think we have actually been pretty lucky that no horses or humans have been injured.

Sadly we have had to make the decision to close for the rest of the day whilst we wait for the tree to be made safe/cleared and whilst we sort some repairs. Really hope anyone else who experienced this is okay. Sending loads of love to you all ###x

Morning All.

I am afraid we have some bad news to share with you all. We have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our 2025 Boconnoc Fun Ride. We are SO sorry as I know how many of you were looking forward to it, however our Number One organiser of this has had some devastating news and is going to be needed elsewhere for the next few months. We just do not feel we have the knowledge of Boconnoc to be able to run this event without her.

We promise to be back bigger and better than ever in 2026. As soon as we know dates etc we will let you all know. Thankyou so much for your understanding. ###

Today has been a very special day. We were contacted by the incredible team at Hannah's Willberry Wonder Pony a while ago to see if we could help make a ‘Willberry Wish’ come true. Of course we said yes and today was the day. As Mandy put so perfectly….it was an absolute privilege to have been able to do it.

We officially have four of THE most special ponies in the world….they were all foot perfect and I am beyond proud of them. HUGEST Thankyou to Mandy, Jess, Jezzie, Dolcie and Lola who volunteered their time today to make this happen 🫶🫶🫶

The charity was set up by an incredible young lady called Hannah and her ‘Original Willberry Wonder Pony’ came along today. Meg was VERY proud that he had a little ride on her 🥲🥲 She knew she was carrying VERY special cargo. We were also blown away to receive our very own Willberry Wonder Pony in the LME colours today….’Little Margate Berry’. 🫶🫶

For those of you who don’t know what the charity is please take a look at the story behind it and the AMAZING work they do. We are so grateful we were in a position to be able to help today 🫶🫶💖💖

****LITTLE MARGATE LADIES AND GENTS MEMBERSHIP CLUB****

We are VERY excited to be able to launch our brand new 2025 Ladies and Gents Membership Club.

We are hoping this will appeal to lots of you and be able to tie in everything that you have been asking for. There is no limitations on who can join….the only rule is that you need to be 21 or over. Non riders more than welcome.

Included within your membership will be a monthly lesson, followed by prosecco and nibbles. The first one is scheduled in for 6.30pm on Friday 7th February. We are also hoping to schedule a social event in once a month as well. February social date to be confirmed.

There will be discounted members hacks in the Summer, a members beach ride, members events, members trips and much much more!!

Please note this is completely separate to our current LME membership Club. You will find this on Ec Pro for those who would like to join up. We can not wait 🙂

I really hope you are all doing okay? We are surviving and whilst the weather has put paid to few days of teaching, we have been making the most of it and progressing with our 2025 plans.

However….we need your help please. What would YOU like us to do for you this year?? What events, lessons, clinics, socials, lessons, hacks would you like us to put on?? What are we missing (if anything?) that you guys would desperately like to do. What do you love that you want us to keep or do more of??

We have some exciting news that we have been keeping a secret for a little while!! Everyone please welcome the lovely Miriam who is going to be joining our coaching team for 2025 (and hopefully well beyond that!) I have known Miriam for many years and we are feeling very grateful to be able to say she is going to be part of our team. She is an incredibly experienced coach and a bundle of positive energy which all ages and abilities love.

Miriam has written a little about herself so you can get to know her 🙂

I started riding at 11 years old in Ireland, but was discouraged at every turn as no-one in my family had ever had anything to do with horses and it was a very expensive hobby ! I was addicted straight away and did every chore possible, helping out at my local riding school to earn rides whenever I could. As I went through working life I rode at every opportunity, and whilst living abroad in Spain, I fell in love with Iberian horses.
Following a successful career managing international hotels and resorts, I moved to Cornwall and decided to follow my passion, enrolling as a mature student at Duchy College, and gaining my BHS teaching qualifications along with Advanced National Certificate in Horse Management. I’ve enjoyed every minute of Pony Club coaching for over 20 years, particularly in Pony Club Centres, where children like me without their own ponies, now have great opportunities to learn and take part in all of the Pony Club disciplines on wonderful riding school ponies.
I continued my learning journey teaching at Duchy College and gaining a Certificate in Education, and later becoming a Centre 10 Advanced Coach in Sports Physchology, in order to complement my coaching skills with practical support in confidence, focus & mindfulness, so very important in todays demanding society. I am beyond excited to join the Team at LME in the New Year, and I look forward to coaching both adults and children, and helping with a holistic approach to improve riding skills, balance, control, connection and partnership, all with fun, enjoyment and some laughter along the way.

Miriam will be here teaching on the following days….

Mondays….12pm - 4pm teaching Private and Semi Private Group Lessons. She will then stay on and be coaching within our Monday evening Pony Club sessions. Pony Club members be prepared for lots of fun 🙂

Tuesdays….9am - 1pm teaching Private and Semi Private Group Lessons as well as running our Tots Club.

Fridays….1pm - 8pm….teaching Private and Semi Private Group Lessons.

Miriam will also be here coaching within our Pony Club Saturdays and running our new Pony Club SEN group on the last Sunday of each month.

Those of you who have been asking specifically for Miriam….hopefully this will help 🙂

Morning All 🙂 Happy Thursday!!

Today is the day we take on the mammoth task of bringing all 26 horses and ponies back from their holiday homes to LME, ready to re open tomorrow. 🫣

They have had the best Christmas Holiday and I suspect will be well rested and ready to come home and crack on….they usually are waiting at the gates for us as soon as they hear the lorry’s and trailers 🥰

Hugest hugest hugest Thankyou as always to the amazing families who allow us to offer our unicorns this every single year. It’s so important for them and to us 🫶

We currently have just a few lesson and hacking spaces available tomorrow….

HAPPY NEW YEAR 😘😘

I have been looking back at photos of the past year and smiling a lot at how many incredible memories we have made and how many fantastic days we have had 🥰 We are so grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people and real life unicorns 🫶🫶

We are so lucky that we get to experience so many adventures with you all, whether that is a two year old trying riding for the first time, a lady achieving their first canter, someone’s first beach ride or the crazy adventures we get up to with our Pony Club members. We love them all!!

There is no point pretending the whole year has been sunshine and rainbows because it hasn’t been …. We have lost four very special unicorns this year which is always tough. One of those losses rocked us all to the core and was tougher than most 💔 We also lost a very special spaniel.

However, we are so grateful for all the amazing times we have had during 2024 and so thankful to all of you who support us day in and day out. Without you guys we wouldn’t be here as LME so Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 We are beyond grateful and thankful for you all 😘😘😘

Hello All!! Happy Friday 😘

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and for those who find it tough….its done for another year 🫶

I have just been on EC Pro and have been blown away by how many of you have been booking in over Christmas. We had a bumper amount of bookings for January made on Christmas Day….Thankyou x a million 😘

I thought now would be a good time to post our new and revamped term time schedule. It may be an idea to screenshot the photos below, as you will then be able to zoom in and read them a little easier.

IMPORTANT…..

We have had to make the decision to move our Christmas SJ clinic from Sunday 22nd to Monday 23rd. The winds are forecast to be over 60mph here on Sunday which is not going to be fun for anyone, but most importantly it’s not safe.

All bookings will be carried over from the Sunday to the Monday. If you can’t make it let us know and we will credit your EC Pro account. Times will be out by the end of the day tomorrow (Saturday) 🙂

If anyone can now make it because the day has changed let me know 🥰

Morning All 🙂 Very excited to say that the wonderful Julia Powney Photography is coming along to our Christmas SJ Clinic on Sunday to take photos. We can’t wait! Mulled wine and mince pies have been purchased and it’s looking super busy 🙂

We survived the night 🥰🥰 So grateful the winds are slowly improving and we have some sun ☀️ Really hoping everyone is okay 😘

We have managed to get all the horses that were in their stables during the storm out today which is a relief. All the field horses are checked and happy and we are busy clearing up and getting sorted, ready to re open tomorrow morning 🥰

I know there are lots of you desperate to ride this week after we have had to close over the weekend….these are the spaces we have available….

MONDAY….
Private lesson availability with Sarah at 10am, 11am and 3pm.

TUESDAY….
Spaces in our Tuesday morning Adults Club with Julie at 10am.

Don’t forget Rachel’s Autumn/Winter SHOWJUMPING (or polework) clinic this afternoon and evening.

WEDNESDAY….
Private lesson OR hack availability between 11.30am and 1pm with Julie.

THURSDAY….
Private lesson space at 3.30pm plus a few spaces left in our Thursday evening group lessons….group lessons for all ages and abilities on a Thursday evening.

FRIDAY….
Private lesson availability at 9am and 11am with Sarah.

WHAT a scary 24 hours….really hoping everyone is safe and okay 😘

We are all okay here. It was a very long sleepless night, followed by a very long and stressful day. It’s not looking like there is going to be much sleep happening tonight either but we are all okay….two and four legged and that’s what matters. The horses and ponies that live in have had a duvet day, those that live out have lots of rugs on and lots of yummy food. All are perfectly happy 🫶 A few scary moments during the day, especially when checking our retired herd and the wind was so bad I had to hold on to the gate and go to ground as literally couldn’t stand up 😬😬 Probably quite comical but in different circumstances 🫣🤣🫣

HUGEST HUGEST Thankyou to the wonderful people who made it to the yard this morning to help us, it meant we could get inside for a few hours before starting over again for the PM work.
We are soooooo grateful 😘😘

Also the hugest Thankyou to everyone who has been checking in on us throughout the night time and day time….again we are so so grateful and it means the world.
