Little Margate Equestrian We are a friendly family run Equestrian Centre in the heart of Cornwall.

We welcome riders from outside our yard for lessons with Rachel, we operate a Pony Share scheme, run a professional yet friendly livery yard and our arena is also available for hire, with or without showjumps. If you have your own facilities, Rachel is happy to travel to you for lessons - just ask!! Our professional, friendly team strive to offer a first class service to both horse and rider and are always happy to chat about your requirements - please give us a ring, email or just pop in!!

Just a little insight in to the chaos that is LME. Would I have it any other way?? ABSOLUTELY not 😂😂🥰🥰

Yesterday Fergus had his first clip of this Winter and then got to try his brand new sparkly rug on that has been bought for him by the kindest family 🥰 He came down to the arena to show everyone and then flatly refused to leave 😂 His absolute best best best friend Easy was in the arena in a lesson and I think he just decided to stay down and wait for him 😂 It melts my heart what best friends they are….they were best friends long before they came to live at LME so we are talking years and years ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

He patiently stood in the middle all lesson, had a quick roll, had a small mooch around, had lots of cuddles, ate some treats and then headed back up to the yard with Kora and Easy. 🥹🥹❤️❤️

The love I have for this pair is more than I could explain 🫶🫶

Christmas gift vouchers for all of our camps available....these were SUPER popular last year 🙂 Payment plans available.

ADULTS CAMP....Friday 24th July (arrive between 9am and 10am) to Sunday 26th July (finish around 4pm). Suitable for all abilities of horse and rider. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly faces and and as much help as you need. You can take part in as much or as little as you like....dressage lessons, showjumping lessons, simulated cross country lessons, hacking through the forestry. Plus plenty of yummy food and lots of laughs!!!!
Price....£350....this includes all food for you, plus bedding and haylage for your horse. Only thing that isn't included is hard feed for your horse.
Deposit of £100 required to secure booking. Please note bookings are non refundable. Payment plan option available for remaining balance once deposit has been paid.

SENIOR CAMP....Monday 27th July (arrive between 9am and 10am) to Wednesday 29th July (finish at around 4pm) Aimed at 13-18 year olds. Bring your own horse or use one of ours. LOTS of fun to be had!! There will be dressage lessons, showjumping lessons, simulated cross country lessons, hacking through the forestry, endless fun, evening activities plus lots of yummy food!!

MINI CAMP....Friday 31st July - Saturday 1st August. For children who are too young or who aren't quite brave enough to stay the night yet. Aimed at children aged 2-7 years old. Arrive between 9am and 9.30am both mornings and go home at 5pm. All the fun of camp but without having to stay away from home. Lunch included.
Price....£180

Hi All 🙂

Huge apologies for the radio silence and a huge thanks to those who have been checking in on us 🫶 We are all okay….just super busy and last week felt even busier than normal. This time of year can feel endless with the jobs list never being anywhere near to being finished 🫣

Despite last week being so busy we had a very very special Tuesday morning ….we were honoured to attend two funerals with three ponies, one for an incredibly special lady and one for an incredibly special little girl 💔💔

Thanks to our incredible LME team who made the whole morning work perfectly and a huge thanks to the wonderful Cassy Gadsby Equine Coaching for coming and plaiting all three ponies so beautifully for their extra extra special occasion.

A desperately sad morning, but such a huge honour. All three ponies behaved impeccably….such superstars 🫶 I am so grateful to be in a position to do this ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Happy Friday everyone!! The sun yesterday morning made SUCH a difference. We are closed on a Thursday morning to allow the horses some quiet time, so we made sure all of our horses and ponies were in the field enjoying the sunshine 🥰

However apart from the odd dry day it feels like it’s been a VERY soggy few weeks ☔️ We have the best clients though and have not had one cancellation due to the weather….the majority of people have even said they haven’t noticed it’s been raining whilst they are actually riding 👌🏻

HUGEST shoutout to our amazing coaches who just carry on coaching as if it isn’t raining with the same infectious enthusiasm they tackle every lesson with….SO grateful for them 🫶

One more soggy day of teaching today and I think we are then headed towards a dry spell 🙏🏻 Here’s hoping anyway 😂

On Saturday Mandy (our chief coach) and I headed down to Helston to support our LME PC members who were taking part in a PC triathlon. Everyone had a fab day achieving a PB in at least one of the events. Harry J Smith very kindly did a round up of the day so please see below for results 🙂

We are looking for some more of our LME PC members to take part in the Winter Triathlon Series. So what happens at a PC triathlon?? The first event is the shoot (or bean bag throwing for those not yet old enough to shoot.) We run shooting practices within our club and also have club guns so no need to worry about purchasing one. The next event is usually the run where each person runs a set distance depending on their age. Some sprint the whole thing, some walk….you honestly don’t have to have a super sporty child to enjoy tri’s. The final event is the swim where each person swims as far as they can within the time set for their age category. Again some swim super fast, some use floats and request an outside lane.

My favourite part of the event is the support everyone shows for everyone. The swimming pool at the last Tri was almost deafening as everyone was cheering for their friends and their clubs. These winter Tri’s don’t involve a pony, just an amazing bunch of people from all different Pony Clubs coming together and having the best time!!

Come on guys….who would be keen to join us at the next one?? Non riding brothers and sisters are also able to get an ‘non riding Pc membership’ to compete in the tri’s too.

Sunday 7th December….Christmas Equine Table Top Sale at Lanhydrock Memorial Hall. Sellers from 1.30pm, Buyers from 2pm. Refreshments available. Perfect place to buy some Christmas presents

Saturday 13th December….Christmas Adults Saddle Club. Final one of 2025! Christmas jumpers and tinsel a must 😉

Sunday 14th December….Pony Club Area Training for Dressage, SJ and Eventing with a Christmas twist!

Saturday 20th December….All day Pony Club Christmas Rally. Christmas jumpers instead of Pony Club jumpers! And bring stuff to decorate the ponies with too!

Sunday 21st December….Christmas Showjumping Clinic with Rachel. Think Christmas music, Christmas jumpers, tinsel, mulled wine, mince pies, chocolate log….need I go on 😉

Monday 22nd December….Christmas Carol Singing on horseback for children aged 2-11. The perfect start to the Christmas hols and if we are lucky Father Christmas may even have dropped a gift in for our return to the yard.

Tuesday 23rd December….All of our horses and ponies have a Christmas holiday too, so we are closed until Sunday 4th January.

LME PONTISPOOL CAMPS 2026….EEEEKKKK!!!!

WE ARE SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

We have secured our 2026 camp dates which we are beyond excited about!!!!

MARCH 27th -29th
OCTOBER 2nd – 4th

Our March camp bookings will open on Sunday at 7pm. Spaces are limited and we are often blown away to find out that we sell out within 24 hours which is insane, so please don’t hang around.

Coaches will be Rachel, Mandy and Julie.

We will need an initial deposit to secure the booking of £100. The rest will need to be paid closer to the time. Payment plan options available.

Bookings will need to be made on Ec Pro. You will find this under ‘Events.’

Putting some feelers out to see if anyone would be interested in some yard work over the winter with a strong possibility of that being extended. Ideally we would be looking for a self-employed person with experience, however this is not essential and we would be open to other options.

Fab friendly team who need some extra help during the winter months initially. Tasks will include turning horses out, mucking out, care of horses before and after their lessons, occasionally assisting with lessons, bringing horses in from the field, tack cleaning, etc.

Please only apply if you have a sense of humour, work well as a team and don’t mind getting muddy! We pride ourselves on 10 star care for our horses and ponies so please only apply if this aligns with you.

That is THE wettest day of coaching I have done in a long time!! Nine hours of teaching, three equidrys and a whole heap of lucozade and I am done 😂

However….do you know what?? I have had the best day of coaching despite the rain. My morning riders were just awesome and achieved so so much, I then went on to my first Autumn/Winter training clinic of the season and after five super busy hours I can confirm not one person cancelled due to the weather!! We are made of tough stuff in Cornwall 😂 Everyone worked really hard, made massive improvements and I am feeling super honored to be able to work with you all 🫶

Thanks SO SO much. 😘😘😘😘 Looking forward to the next one already 🥰

On Friday we ran a Pony Club Mounted Games Day. We had SUCH a lovely day 🫶

We had all ages and abilities of riders from those trying games for the very first time right up to those wanting to head to the area competition this year 🥰

BEST day with everyone having so much fun….ponies, children AND coaches 🫶
