Beyond proud of our girls today 💞💞💞

Third day at Bicton for the first day of the Pony Club Regional Champs. Everyone has been incredible and done so so well!!

Despite the torrential rain to start the day we have finished in the sunshine with some amazing results!!

Our 13 and under dressage team came an amazing 6th place out of 17 teams. Dolcie managed an incredible 3rd place in her arena and 7th overall, Lanta was also 3rd in her arena with an amazing 5th place overall. These placings are just incredible at a Regional Champs. We are so so proud.

Kensa then went on to come 2nd place in her show jumping class and Abbie was 6th in this class. Wow!!

Kerrie and Tom did such a beautiful dressage test to come 6th place individually in her section and Abbie also managed an 8th place individually in her dressage section.

We are beyond proud and have had the best day. 🥰🥰

Day two update of the Pony Club Mini Champs at Bicton Arena on Friday 🥰

Our girls rode so well but luck wasn’t quite on our side with a few faults here and there, meaning they were out of the placings. They were 17th out of 31 teams which was still a super duper result.

Huge shout out to Eliza and Easy for some incredible jump off turns to just have an unlucky pole down.

Super proud of them all and so lovely to hear them all planning to qualify again next year 🥰🥰

A good coach plays several essential roles that contribute to the development and success of their riders. Here are some key roles:

1. Mentor - A coach guides riders not only in their sport but also in personal growth, offering advice and wisdom based on experience.

2. Motivator - They inspire and encourage riders to push their limits, fostering a positive mindset and determination to achieve goals.

3. Teacher - Coaches educate riders about techniques, strategies, and rules of the sport, helping them improve their skills and understanding.

4. Strategist - They develop game plans and strategies to maximize the riders strengths and develop blind spots.

5. Communicator - Effective communication is crucial. A good coach provides clear instructions, feedback, and support, ensuring riders understand their roles and responsibilities.

6. Disciplinarian - They enforce rules and standards of behavior, promoting discipline and respect within the team environment.

7. Supporter - Coaches provide emotional and moral support, helping riders deal with pressure, setbacks, and successes.

8. Evaluator - They assess riders performance, setting benchmarks for improvement and helping them identify areas for growth.

9. Role Model - Coaches serve as examples of sportsmanship, integrity, and work ethic, influencing the behavior and attitudes of their athletes.

10. Team Builder - They foster a sense of teamwork and camaraderie, creating an environment where riders feel valued and connected.

Each of these roles contributes to the overall development of athletes, both in their sport and in life.

However, one of the most important traits of a good coach is being able to deal with the unexpected!

Things go wrong, rarely do things go according plan. Being able to manage situations in a clam efficient manner especially around horses, is for me the most essential quality of a good coach 💪

Super day at Bicton Arena for the first day of the Pony Club Mini Champs. We are beyond proud of all of our LME girls and boys. HUGE well done to them all, but especially our team who came 6th, our team who came SECOND and got to stand on the podium 🥰🥰 and Marla who came 7th individually. These placings are INCREDIBLE as there have been over 100 people in each class.

Best day with amazing company and lots of laughs 🥰

Now for some sleep before day two of Mini Champs tomorrow 💞💞

Well….18 hours later and Tuesday is done 🫣🫣 Good job I have the best job in the world 🙈🙈

Today was the second day of our ‘Mini Camp’ and we had sooooo much fun!! Gruffalo Hunting, Blackberry Hunting, Splashing through the River, Camp Songs, Yummy Cake….I could go on and on 🥰🥰 HUGE THANKYOU to all of our helpers….without them a camp for this age would be impossible. Also a huge Thankyou to the parents who have trusted us to have your super special little peeps….we really have had the best time 💗💙

Julie and Cassy have been fully booked all day for their Private and Semi Private lessons which has been great. So lovely to see some new clients who have managed to find a slot as well as our regulars 🥰🥰

Once our Mini Campers had gone home we headed straight in to a super busy evening of Dressage for one of our Summer Series Competitions….we finished at 9pm and even had to put the lights on for the last few tests!! Thankyou so much to everyone who came and supported us 😘😘

Biggest shout out to the best team in the world who manage to keep days like today running like clockwork 😘😘 So grateful 🥰🥰

Amazing first day of our ‘Mini’ Camp. This is for children aged 2-7 who aren’t quite old enough to stay the night with us yet, but still want to enjoy all the fun of camp!!

We had some grooming to do first thing and then we headed off for a morning adventure riding our ponies to Cardinham Woods. We stopped off to have a play in the park whilst the ponies munched some grass and then rode back to the yard again just in time for a super yummy camp lunch.

We then rode again this afternoon playing lots of games in the field and practicing our trotting before putting the ponies to bed and then having lotsssss of yummy cake 🥰🥰

All campers are now at home and hopefully fast asleep so they will be full of energy and ready for day two tomorrow 😁😁

We have also had a super busy day of lessons with Sarah and Cassy today….all in all a super ‘Summer Holiday’ Day 💗💗

So incredibly proud and grateful for the two days we have just had!! Just over a week ago we were offered a wild card to compete at the Pony Club National Champs with our Senior Mounted Games Team. Sadly two of our Senior Team members were unable to come and it was going to be an expensive trip, so it initially looked like we weren’t going to be able to go.

However….our girls kicked into action fundraising like mad and we asked our two older Junior Team members if they would like to join us so we could go. They said yes and we made the decision we were going 🥰🥰 Was it ideal?? Absolutely not!! We hadn’t been practicing, we were two team members down and the Junior Team members had never done the Senior races before. We all had a whole lot of juggling to do to free the days up and I think it goes without saying we all struggled knowing we weren’t going to have Dinky 💔💔

The girls absolutely smashed it WINNING the tack and turnout competition which was huge at National level!! They then raced their socks off getting in to 8 out of 10 finals and coming 7th overall. There were only 8 points between 2nd and 7th place so a very close competition!! So proud of them and what an incredible experience and memories we will all have forever 🥰🥰

Huge thankyou to anyone who donated money towards helping the girls get there and a huge thankyou to the parents for being so incredible and such good company!! We are already planning next year (as long as we qualify 🫣).

The hugest shout out has to go to Em who raced her heart out holding her own in a Senior competition when she is still a Junior. And all of this without Dinky 💔 Meg and Evie looked after her so well but it must have taken so much bravery and guts to do what she did….Em we are so proud of you and I know Dinky will be too wherever she is watching us from ######xx

****IMPORTANT NEWS****

So I have spent most of the day with these gorgeous and incredibly determined girls. A few days ago we were lucky enough to be issued a wild card from Pony Club headquarters inviting our Senior Mounted Games Team to compete at the Pony Club NATIONAL Champs 🫣🫣 Beyond incredible and we are so grateful!!

However….it hasn’t been plain sailing….two of our team members are unable to come for various reasons which meant we only had three riders. (You need five in a team) These three riders were beyond desperate to go though…understandably….its an experience that doesn’t come around every year 💗. Knowing money was an issue they immediately kicked into action fundraising like mad whilst I desperately tried to work out how we could magic two team members from somewhere. Thankfully our two older Junior members have agreed to join us for the road trip and become Senior Team Members for the weekend so the adventure is on 🥰🥰🥰

We have practiced this morning and then went to Lostwithiel Carnival to carry on fundraising. HUGE THANKYOU to Caroline and Emma for making that happen 😘 I have been blown away by these girls….the determination and dedication they have shown has just been outstanding. So proud of them and we haven’t even left yet 😂🫣

So….we leave on Friday and compete on Saturday. This super exciting news does mean that we are having to change the Southcott Cross Country clinic on Saturday….sorry sorry sorry!! I know some of you will be fed up and I do get that….we just couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by. We are hoping to sort a new date tomorrow and we are keeping everything crossed you will all be able to join us for the new date 😘😘 We will keep you updated 😘😘

Such an amazing evening last night for our Summer Series Showjumping Competition. All of our Senior Campers had a go and took part which was amazing alongside lots of others. It was super busy and to top it off it was such a beautiful evening. I didn’t take heaps of photos as we had the wonderful Julia Powney Photography here and hers will be a million times better!!

Now time to go and wake these campers up for their third and final day 🥰🥰 parents please remember….no entry to camp before 4pm. Presentation at 4.30pm. You are then free to pack up and head home. NO packing up to be done until after the presentation. This includes tents. See you all soon ######x

We have had THE best weekend with this wonderful group of ladies. Three days of so so much fun, heaps of riding, yummy food, big achievements, smashing goals, plenty of happy tears, catching up with old friends and making new ones, enjoying our ponies plus lots and and lots of laughter.

Little Margate are actively on the look out for TWO new members to join our incredibly busy Equestrian Centre yard team. This is a ‘Groom’ position….not a coaching position. One to start immediately and one to start in September.

We are looking for someone to join our super friendly, enthusiastic and professional team here at Little Margate. We need someone with endless energy, someone with a real passion for the job, someone who takes pride in their work and really wants to be involved in our industry, someone who is friendly and polite, someone with a sense of humour and someone who is definitely not afraid of hard work. (Please no one who is going to decide working with horses isn’t for them after a few months!!) Must be 18 and over.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to slot straight in to our fantastic team and be willing to care for the horses and ponies within our Equestrian Centre to an incredibly high standard as well as dealing with clients in a professional and friendly manner. Please no one who likes to cut corners and not finish a job off properly!!

Hours to be confirmed but a minimum 25 hours a week. Qualifications not essential as long as you have experience. We could also be interested in a self employed freelance groom to help us out.
