Looking back through last nights footage to see what the girls got upto over night and seems the camera spotted this one mooching around 😄
Helen has well and truly 'pimped my ride' 🤣🎄🎅
Pip and I looking like Scrooge whilst Helen and Hoot are spreading the Xmas cheer...love it 😆🎄🎅
Another day, another reverse leg blend 🤭
Using my Liveryman harmonys with Skiptooth blades, before finishing with my novas and the 3mm blade 👌
Don't forget - blending the inside of the leg is just as important as the outside!!!
So following on from my last post, here's a brief video, courtesy of the CCTV🤣
*ignore the fact I still haven't tidied up since the recent storms we've had..finishing work late in the dark means I haven't had alot of time to myself🙈*
Started off doing the usual "Up Downs" for a few minutes so she can remember whats what, before then leaning over and allowing her to balance herself. As usual she just stood there not atall bothered!
Back in August i managed to get a few steps whilst I lent over,so today i figured we'd aim for a good few strides to try and progress that little bit further and to expect some tail clamping and perhaps a hop and a skip, but she walked off without hesitation, whilst I tried to hang on for dear life as the saddle was threatening to slip🐖🤣 Keeping most of the contact through the dually so I wasn't adding too much pressure, whilst just letting her go forward and walk where she wanted, she understood what was being asked and even managed a tight turn without any spicy moments 🤭 (she's abit precious on the stone so the turn was rather short and pokey😄)
Then once under saddle, I didn't want to add any leg as having me sat up there was more than enough for her to process let alone putting on any more pressure, so instead we just worked off my voice and she handled it all exceptionally well👌
Overall,i just kept it short and sweet. Let her walk the same route so I wasn't asking too much of her and just allowed her to enjoy it without overwhelming her... although I'm quite sure she just wants to hurry up and get cracking on the roads 🤣
One tricky reverse leg blend...the hair was thick 😳
Nonetheless Liveryman harmonys making light work of it,using my n° 2/3/4/5 skip tooth blades along with the 3mm blade on my Novas👌
Usually I'd use my comb attachments and a 10 blade but this feather was dense 💪
When the sleepy-juice is that good, that your being used as a head rest😴🤣
Clipit Grooming
Liveryman
A chubby attempt at a haute ecole,walk-canter transition and a flying change all within the space of a few seconds🤣 meanwhile I'm trying to keep the phone still whilst coughing and spluttering 🤦♀️😷😄
Early morning hot wash for Vegas this morning🤗
Don't forget - if you've booked in for a clip and don't have the facilities to enable you to present me a horse with a sparkly clean coat, then don't hesitate to ping me a message to get booked in for a 'Head to Hoof' bath. My mobile hot wash can either be connected to mains water supply or I have a pump in which can be dropped in a bucket 🤩
Clippers will not 'cut' the grease off. Instead it'll pull at the coat, put increased stress on the motor, blunt the blades and overall be an uncomfortable experience and resulting in a very untidy finish.
I do charge a fee for dirty coats however ive been very lenient as of late, so will be reintroducing it again as I'm very particular on my work and hate feeling dissatisfied when having to walk away from a clip that looks botched along with a handful of blades that are blunt and machines that feel they have done a years worth or work in an hour😒
We may be approaching November but temperatures are still mild so there's no excuse. Rug appropriately after bathing or worse case thatch with straw! Those who have finer coats may be able to get away with hot-clothing and vigorous grooming on the run up to the clip but this method won't work for heavier types or cushings coats due to the coat density. You'll find yourself not even going skin deep and so just cleaning the surface🤦♀️
Thankyou to the clients who do their best on getting them bathed and ready. Me and my machine really appreciate it🥰
Look at Hoots transformation!!!!🤩
I wish I took a 'before' photo but the results speak for themselves!😍
Oceans feeling pretty chuffed with herself for rolling in the biggest pile of sheep 💩 possible🙈🤣
Pip looking gorgeous after her glow up🤩
Pip had a re-hog this morning that i blended back into her lengthy summer coat! Normally if she was having a full clip there wouldn't be the need to blend but this way, regardless of whether I do clip her fully or just do a leg blend end of the week, she's looking beautiful either way 😊
Little beady eyes are watching 🤣
Hoot enjoying a steady canter up the range in the morning sunshine😊
Abit bleak out moor today🌧
Ember more than content having her ZERO FLYZ applied whilst her yummies get delivered😄
Best 3yo👌
When you're trying to put up fencing with the help of a 3month old puppy🤦♀️🤣
Pip looking beautiful after her re-clip!🥰
Love a cushings de-floof🥰
ZERO FLYZ working it's magic🙌 Sun's out, flies are out but no tail swishing and being kept fly free, giving Ember the opportunity to be rug-free for some sun on her back and me not worrying she'll be eaten alive🤗
Those of you who know about last year's skin ordeal with Ember will know that this spray must be good if I've got the confidence to allow Ember to have some rugless sessions!!!🦟
Photos of last year's ordeal from April - September are in the comments👀
Never knew a cause even after numerous biopsies/allergy tests/blood work ect but I'm still adamant it was down to those crab flies!!! They can't latch on and store food so they're known to return back to their original site/area to continue their feeding....
Seems Ember is just very precious🤦♀️🤣
Pip meeting the new arrivals 😄
Throwback to this satisfying cushings clip for Bob!
Thanks to the mixed weather, it seems horses are still hanging onto their winter woolies and making the shedding season seem like years! Dates are still available in the diary for clipping. From Guard hair tidys and Re-hogs through to full clips/welfare(cushings,mites,CPL ect), Leg blends and everything inbetween!
Get booked in now before i send my machines away for servicing!!⏳️
Some evening sycamore trimming to keep them at hedge height, preventing those pesky 'helicopter' seeds from ever sprouting! Luckily I've only had a handful of sapplings this year that must've blown over from the trees in further fields but I'm not prepared to let my own grow to point they cause havoc!!! 🌱
Ft. Ember being her usual nosey self 🤣
She'll thank me one day I'm sure 🐖🤣
Just found this wee one mooching around Vegas's stable. God knows how he managed to climb the turnout pen fencing to get in but hes now off on new adventures 🤣
Ember this morning....She always puts on a show before saying hello🤣
Day one of Muzzle Life for Ember 😄
She's grasping the concept pretty well but some frustration does creep in when trying to eat the long tufts🤭
Its the little things...
This is Noodles.
We started our first session on Tuesday as her owner has been the main handler regards her groundwork and seems if anyone else takes the 'reins',all manners seem to go out the window and you're left hanging onto the rope like a rag doll whilst she runs through you 🤣 -- and yes,the laughing face is correct... I was hanging on for dear life whilst being towed around 🤣
So a headcollar change into my dually and 10mins later noodles had taken to pressure-release like a duck to water. So knowing I had some control, we ventured across the field upto the school where we continued the session and even introduced some lunging! My voice isn't mums voice so breaks or general commands weren't and still arnt quite where id like them to be but fast forward to today - her 3rd session and we've cracked personal space without hesitation! And even sending her out on a circle,I didn't need to ask twice!
When I first started work with noodles, any small question I asked, she'd answer by running through me blind along with a shoulder barge,so it's a huge improvement for her to process what's being asked without hitting the panic button!
Look forward to continuing with her and also brushing up on her field mate Willows, ground work too! ☺️
