Yes, yes, and yes!
Working with animals comes with a HUGE amount of responsibility. It doesn’t matter if you’re a groomer, boarder, house sitter, walker, veterinary care assistant, veterinary nurse, veterinary receptionist, veterinary surgeon, cat sitter, hydrotherapist, physiotherapist, holistic therapist, I know I’ve not included everyone and please do not take that personally! As you are ALL so very very important to the health, welfare, and wellbeing of our pets.
Your job, whatever your role, plays a massive part in that pets life. It is not a hobby, it is not an easy option, it is a choice, a vocation, a calling to care for pets who are often the most important part of somebodies life! That means you have to do your best and be your best by learning as much as you can, and realising that you should never be undervalued.
In many people’s lives their pets are one of the most important, sometime the most important. Your work, your care, your dedication, is worth everything.
So the next time someone thinks your job is just cuddling animals, remember this post. Cuddling is lovely, but your job is so much more than that ❤️
