Have you seen the recent rules that make it a legal requirement for everyone in Great Britain who keeps birds outdoors to register with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)?

You can find more details here:

https://www.bva.co.uk/media/6059/guidance-for-registration-of-kept-birds-sept-2024.pdf

The rule apply to poultry and other captive birds including pets and aviary birds. You do not need to register indoor birds such as budgies, parrots, cockatiels and finches if they are fully housed in a dwelling (your home or another indoor structure) with no access to open air.

We have had a female kitten brought into our clinic. Sadly, she had passed away before being brough into us. She has a black body with white feet and a white patch under her chin and is roughly around 14-18 weeks old. She was wearing no collar and does not have a microchip. She was found in Silver Birch Drive, Middleton-On-Sea.
Please contact the clinic for more information.

Unlike us, pets have no understanding that hot weather can be harmful. We control their environment, their access to water and their exercise, and they can't speak up if they start feeling unwell. Heat stroke can rapidly progress and, even with veterinary treatment, is often fatal.
