Was lovely to see our Baileys Horse Feeds nutritionist Lorna Edgar for a yard visit last week. We feel very lucky to be working with such a supportive company for a great many years now, and the relationship we have built along the way. Lorna is always on the end of the phone for feeding advice, and she has shared our horses journeys with us from breeding through to competing and it’s lovely for her to visit the horses and see them grow. What a fantastic 3 days we have had at Bury Farm! Our own “Krossan” clear day 1 in the fox, 1 down day 2 & clear day 3. Our homebred 7yr old “Balou Tropics” is the hand that just keeps giving ❤️ 6th fox day 1, 4th in the B & C day 2 and 8th in the karma day 3, picking up 2 tickets to the national finals (video) 🔝 Hannah Joy Warnett mare “Vegas Z” smashed it with a win 🏆 in the B & C 🤩🤩 couldn’t be happier 😬

Today is ! Do you know what an excellent all-round form of exercise horse riding is? Not only does it improve cardio fitness, but it is also amazing for building up core strength which will do wonders for your balance and posture.

And if that's not enough, horse riding is proven to boost your mood, reduce stress and help with anxiety. If this isn’t the perfect excuse to head straight to the stables, we don't know what is.

“Krossan” keeping up his consistent form this week at Hickstead following on from Wales a fortnight ago. We didn’t quite get his entries in on time for the CSI at wales due to an issue with his foot, so he jumped the national classes getting placed in 2 out of his 3 classes 👌 this week he has jumped 2 days in the 1.20m classes posting a clear both days and narrowly missing out on qualifying for the main ring

A ✨𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱-𝗱𝗼𝗲𝗿✨ is a horse or pony who hold their weight well (or currently overweight) and is in moderate - hard work (ridden 4 days a week or more).

It’s tempting to not give the good-doer any hard feed because you don’t want them getting too many calories but, if you do this, they will miss out on quality protein, vitamins and minerals 😞; which are even more important for the working horse or pony.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. ✅
It’s fed by the mug-full (250g per mug) so you can add Light Chaff or Speedi-Beet to bulk up the feed and slow their eating time down – again, without adding way too many calories. This will also make them feel fuller for longer! 👍
