We now offer Wellness Screening with our Nurses!

Pets age around seven times faster than humans and as they do, they become more susceptible to a variety of health conditions.
A wellness screening is a comprehensive medical MOT for your cat or dog that can detect health issues and help to give you peace of mind about your pet’s health and wellbeing. Your pet will receive a detailed health check by one of our trained veterinary nurses and they can also give tailored lifestyle advice.

Wellness Screening is suitable for healthy adult cats and dogs – if your pet is showing any signs or symptoms of disease, or any abnormal behaviour you should have a check up with a vet first.
Adult pets are:
• Cats over 7 years old
• Dogs over 5 years old
• Giant breeds of dog (Great Dane, Mastiff,
St. Bernard, etc.) over 3 years

The nurse will perform a physical exam, a complete clinical history, urine testing, a blood pressure measurement and blood testing for all common organ function-related diseases including:
• kidney disease
• liver disease
• diabetes
• high blood pressure
• overactive thyroid (cats only)

• It is ideal if pets are fasted for 12 hours before their appointment
(no food but allowed access to water).
• A fresh urine sample should be brought to the appointment in a
clean, dry container. For advice on collecting urine samples, please
contact us.
• If you are unable to undertake either of the points above, please
attend your appointment and the team will advise you further.
• The person bringing your pet to the appointment should be
familiar with their health status, habits, and routines.
• You will receive your results within 10 days of the screening. If all is well, you will receive a text or email from your practice team.
If there are any abnormal results, the practice team will be in touch
to arrange for a vet to discuss the next steps. This may include
a recommendation for a change of diet, medication or further
investigations.

Your appointment will last around 25-30 minutes but this could vary depending on the individual patient. We can perform these Wellness screens at all three clinics!

We are still running out of all three branches. There is no more closures than before.

There owner reports that they are likely to still be together and are very vocal.

As you may have seen, January is Dental Awareness Month. We are offering FREE dental health checks with our nurses and if a dental procedure is recommended, you can get 20% off. PLUS, a FREE Pre-Op pack and the option to opt in or out of a discounted Post Dental pack to help you continue to keep your pets teeth clean and shiny! (Please note that if a dental procedure is required, this will be carried out at our Chichester surgery) This is Enza and she belongs to one of our Nurses Katie who is testing out one of the pet friendly toothpastes. You can see that Enza finds it more than palatable and also uses the squeeze time as an opportunity for a bit of football with the lid! Next week we'll show you Enza having her teeth brushed using a variety of methods. Have a good weekend everyone.
