Dobby has been missing from Bedford Avenue, Bognor Regis since 15/09/24.
He had his front right leg amputated only two and a half weeks ago so his owners are desperate to have him home.

This is Mr Hedgehog 🦔 as nicknamed by our nursing team.
This little chap was brought into us earlier in the week for being outside during the day - which is not normal!
He was found to be slightly underweight, dehydrated and with a very heavy burden of ticks.
We are pleased to say, after a few days of TLC and removal of over 100 ticks, Mr Hedgehog is now well enough to be re-released!
At Alphapet, we have always prided ourselves on the care and devotion we give to the Great British wildlife. We work very closely with the charity Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital to help save these beautiful animals. 🦔🦉🦆🕊️🦢🐦⬛🪿🦌

Unfortunately we had a deceased Neutered Male Cat brought into us on 6th August.
He is black/brown tabby with no microchip.
He was found near Walton Lane Bus stop in Bosham.

This is gorgeous Travis. 😍
Travis has spent the first few months of his life with on and off diarrhoea 💩
He was quite quiet for a puppy but was otherwise well and growing nicely. Travis was receiving his monthly flea and worming treatment and was on a reputable diet.
Travis’ Mum tried a bland diet and probiotics but his bad tummy was persistent so, along with the guidance from Vet Aisling, we sent Travis’ faecal sample off to the lab to be tested.
The results came back that Travis was infected with a Protozoa called Giardia!
Giardia is a tiny parasite that attacks the lining of the intestines and causes very watery, strong smelling diarrhoea.
Giardia spreads by infected poo, so can be caught anywhere infected poo particles lie i.e. infected water or food, infected dogs and the environment. Giardia germs can survive in the environment for months, even once the original poo particles have gone.
Humans can catch giardia so it’s important to wash your hands after cleaning up dog poo or meeting a dog with diarrhoea.
We are pleased to say that after a short course of treatment, Travis is now clear and is much happier in himself!

We think she was very pleased that her medical shirt she is now wearing, to help protect her wound, matches her harness perfectly!
Dolly was a very brave girly who enjoyed lots of cuddles from the nursing team 🥰

This is little Minnie and she was Spayed yesterday. Minnie lost her eye earlier in the year but I think we can all agree, she can still melt your heart with just one look 😻

It is grass seed season so we are seeing lots of dogs with these darts in places they shouldn’t be! Most commonly we see them in between toes or inside the ear, but they have the potential to work their way in anywhere on the body.
This is poor little Toby who presented today with wounds and a swollen paw.
Vet Aisling was able to remove the seed from the wound higher up which had entered into the toe wound and traveled up!
Our advice is to check ears and feet after a walk to check that these little seeds have not got caught up in your pets fur which could then potentially lead to problems like this!

Here we have beautiful Margo who was in today for her Spay 🩷
Margo’s owners opted for a Medisuit instead of a traditional Buster Collar. This is to prevent her from licking or chewing at her wound which can lead to post operative complications.
Margo was an absolute superstar and enjoyed lots of cuddles from the nursing team 🥰

Frankie loves chewing on a Veggiedent chew. They are lower in fat and take longer to chew than other chews, so they are better for their waistline and teeth! They also dissolve in the stomach acid, so if they did swallow a chunk, it shouldn't be a foreign body risk. Whilst out walking at lunchtime today, one of our receptionists Billie managed to capture this brief glimpse of a herd of deer in a field near to our Chichester surgery. It was certainly a lovely way to end what has been a very busy week filled with floods and endless tailbacks! Have a great weekend everyone!
Head Receptionist Sam recently took Sid the Sausage out for a walk in the woods with his family. Check out those ears and that waggy tail making a last appearance at the end!
On a lunchtime walk with her dog Loki, vet Claire recently saw all these deer in a field next to our Chichester surgery. Claire has also had a couple of near misses in her car when deer have run out in front of her. For our West Meads clients who wouldn’t normally attend our Chichester surgery, please be aware of deer on the neighbouring roads. Quite often, if there is one, more will follow, so please drive carefully!
