The end of the year is always a busy time for us, and we're now down to our last handful of appointments for the year. Please make sure to book ahead to avoid your dog going over their usual schedule!

Did you know that short haired dogs also benefit from regular trips to a professional groomer? This gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux had her first visit with us today and I wanted to have a chat about the benefits of professional grooms!

🐾 Health monitoring - a groomer touches your dog nose to tail, and we're more likely to spot changes in your dog's health over time. While we can't diagnose anything medical, we will always bring new lumps or other changes to your attention and recommend a vet visit

🐾 General handling - while we're speaking of vets, being handled by a stranger regularly will simply make your dog more used to it! This could make vet check ups much easier, as your dog isn't completely overwhelmed by all the new things going on

🐾 And the biggest of them all - all that shedding hair is our problem rather than you having to hoover your house floor to ceiling during shedding season 😉

We strongly recommend any dog starting their grooming journey as soon as they're allowed outside after puppy jabs - picking up a small 10kg puppy and placing them in the bath is much easier than a fully grown adult 😂

This is Gigi. I've groomed her since we opened back in 2021, and as with many clients I've gotten to know Gigi's family over the years.

As Gigi came in for her regular groom today, her owner Debbie told me that her gorgeous 2 year old Chihuahua Barney had been diagnosed with an inflammatory brain disease. The treatment includes expensive chemotherapy, and Debbie has set up a fundraising page to try and receive help during this emotionally and financially really hard time.

I appreciate that everyone is struggling right now, but even £1 towards Barney's vet bills would be greatly appreciated. I don't often share fundraisers like this, but as I said, we form relationships with our clients and hearing about such a young dog having to go through so much breaks my heart. I'm sure we can all agree that if we faced a similar situation, the help of kind strangers would go such a long way. ❤️

I hosted a social media workshop at the salon this weekend through my new social media business Socials Detangled!

My dog Bean decided to have a nap on the table while we had a brief smell test of all the Peanut & Pickle perfume sprays we currently have. Now I must say he is never allowed on tables at home but as everyone thought he was adorable, he was granted a one time pass to be the centre of attention.

I know we're only just getting into September, but Christmas week is now only 16 weeks away! This for the majority of our clients means 2-3 appointments for the rest of the year, and we recommend booking in the rest of the year now if you're able to!

As usual, we do not allow new clients to book December appointments until 1st October. If you want to make sure your dog gets a groom for the holidays, now is the time to get your appointments in the diary.

💚 Green Groomers Collective

Some of our customers have already mentioned the big poster we have up in our reception, and now is time to chat about Green Groomers Collective

For the past two months or so, we've been collecting our dog hair waste into a separate bin, ready to be sent off to Green Groomers Collective. This amazing organisation recycles dog (and human) hair waste and turns it into so many things, such as

♻️ Oil spillage cleaning mats

♻️ Hair rope

♻️ Particle board

♻️ Plant fertiliser

Joining GGC was such a no brainer, and we've reduced our landfill waste by around 75%! Our first box is finally full up and ready to be picked up, and another collection box is on the way to be filled up and used for good

Good morning everyone,

This is always a message we really don't like to send. Over the past month we've seen an alarming increase in no shows and late cancellations. As per our T&Cs everyone agrees to when filling out our new customer forms, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice if you can no longer make your appointment. Failure to provide us with enough notice may incur a late cancellation / no show fee of 50% (100% for repeat late notice + deposit for future appointments). We are both self employed and only get paid if we have a dog on the table. Just in the last 24 hours, we have lost out on £110 of wages, and people on our waiting list have missed out on appointments as we haven't had the time to fill these spaces. This is a huge financial knock to a small business, and we may have to consider introducing mandatory non-refundable deposits to all appointments.

We offer a complimentary reminder service through our booking software, which sends out reminders 48 hours before your appointment. Please make sure you are double checking the time and date in these reminders, as we've recently also had people turning up on wrong days. If you have chosen to opt out of reminders but want to receive them again, please let us know and we'll reactivate them for you. 🏵️ Flower Power Summer of Love presents Puppy Love 🏵️

We will be attending the Puppy Love event on 1st September in West Park! This is our first Bognor faire, and we're so excited to be a part of it.

We will have lots of stock of JR Pet Products treats, Peanut & Pickle canine skincare products (shampoos, coat sprays, balms etc) and of course all our knowledge to share with anyone wanting to chat about dog grooming!

Now let's hope our summer is simply delayed and we'll have fantastic weather at the start of September ☀️
