Losing Dylan and Bella within such a short space of time has been incredibly tough. 😢😢

✂️🐕Price increase🐕✂️

Once again I have held off doing this as long as possible, but there will be a price increase from the 1st of September 2023.
The increase will dependent upon several factors.
* Length of time between grooming appointments.
* Coat type and condition.
* Size and breed of your dog.
* If I collect, drop off, or both.

This is to help cover the cost of overheads, insurances, equipment, products, consumables and the running costs to my vehicle which have increased significantly over the last few months.

As the increases are quite individualised, I’ll let everyone know what their increased prices are (between £2.50 and £5.00 per dog on average) maybe more if you’ve anything poodle, doodle, poo or any other curly coated breed or cross breed.

I am also implementing a cancellation and no show policy as my appointments are limited and therefore extremely difficult to reschedule which causes me so much stress and guilt when I’m having to put my family time aside.

If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hrs notice, or just don’t turn up, unfortunately I will no longer to be able to groom your dog and you will need to find another groomer.

If you pay by bank transfer can you please make sure you pay on or before point of collection.
It is so time consuming chasing payments.

These are financially difficult times for everyone, thank you all for still supporting my little business ☺️☺️

Thank you everyone who’s messaged regarding Bella.

She’s still home and very poorly, but putting us through an emotional rollercoaster 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m going to get back to everyone who’s waiting for me to rearrange cancelled appointments, or has asked to be booked in. I’ll try my best to get through my backlog of appointments asap whilst still making Bella my number 1 priority.

Hello 👋🏻👋🏻 it’s been a while.

I’m currently on holiday and will start replying to everyone’s messages next week once I’m back to work.

We had a bit of a day yesterday with one of our own. Bella has several non related medical issues going on which we’re working closely with our vet to get to the bottom of and treat. I may need to cancel or rearrange grooming appointments at short notice as we’re waiting for specialist referrals and general investigation.

Thank you all in advance, and the biggest thank you to all at Willows Vets (South Shields) literally hands down the best veterinary care ever!

On Monday we had to say our goodbyes to one of our own. My own little velcro dog who just loved his people. The smallest male dog I’ve ever lived with, and the one with the biggest heart. **Update**

Bella is now home and recovering from surgery. We reopen on Tuesday 11th January for dog grooming appointments only, we have decided to take a break from daycare and dog boarding and haven’t renewed our license for 2022.

👀Urgent Update👀

As many of you know, I’ve been suffering with eye issues since the beginning of the year.
Today I’ve finally been assessed at clinic and require surgery to both eyes. I’ve no dates as yet, but have been told to expect my first surgery in 2 to 3 weeks time and my second surgery 2 to 3 weeks after that.
I’ll need to take the surgery day off, and a minimum of 48hrs afterwards too depending on healing.
Unfortunately this means I will have to cancel appointments at short notice, I’ll try my best to get them rearranged to a suitable date, but this may not be possible.
If this is the case, I’ll try my best to find another groomer for you.

GROOMING APPOINTMENTS UPDATE

I think that’s my diary completely reorganised and everyone who had appointments in the diary or made an enquiry is sorted.

Many of you have either rebooked at last appointment, or have popped your appointments in till year end, thank you ☺️

From next week my working days and times are reducing, my appointments are now strictly limited and I’m booked out approximately eight weeks in advance.

If you’re unsure if you’ve an appointment booked please get in touch and I’ll do my best to get you in.

I can no longer arrange short notice appointments and will find it very hard to reschedule booked appointments if you’re needing to change or cancel.

I’m also struggling with rotator cuff injuries and finding I’m unable to continue grooming certain breeds, or dogs which cause strain to my shoulders.

I understand this will not suit everyone, but If needed I’ll help find an equally awesome groomer for you!

I’ve had a huge influx of puppies and new dogs for which I’m extremely grateful, but have to close my books for now to new enquiries.

My appointments are very limited right now due to reasons. I’m trying to be as accommodating as possible, but I’m not able to be as flexible as I once was.

Newest lockdown grooming guidelines.

After three weeks into lockdown, pet welfare issues are becoming more prevalent. As promised, the team at B**A (British Isles Grooming Association) have continued to press for answers from government to help safeguard the welfare of our pets. For those of you who participated in our online poll, you likewise expressed in the majority that this was of the highest priority.
We have consulted Chris Laurence, Chairman of The Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG) (the group that advises defra and is instrumental in the shaping of guidelines around national lockdown in England) who supports the following statement (links to guidance for the devolved nations available below):
The updated government guidance from 11.Jan.2021 for pet grooming has not changed. It states that grooming should be put off at this time wherever possible to help stop non-essential journeys and stop the spread of covid.
The guidance sets out that in the current lockdown, 'business as usual' is not allowed, but that grooming for welfare reasons is.
However, the number of clients that will now be falling into the welfare categories are bound to be increasing because of time, weather and circumstances.
We must advise you to use your professional integrity and training to assess each pet's needs in conjunction with the owner. We suggest the completion and retaining of full documentation of all grooming undertaken (eg. a signed customer declaration and images).
Dogs which need grooming that cannot be put off may be groomed due to their coats requiring immediate attention to prevent a worsening coat condition; overgrown and uncomfortable nails; hygiene areas requiring attention; hair and debris build-up in front of eyes. No animal needs to have its welfare compromised by waiting until it is badly matted.
