FYI🚨
The RSPA said the symptoms of Alabama rot include skin sores, visible swelling, red patch or skin defects and changes in appetite.
It recommends washing off all mud following wet and muddy walks, especially through woodland in order to minimise the risk of your dog catching the disease.
The charity claims the number of cases reported in the UK is extremely low, so there is little reason to be worried - but if you have concerns for your dog then seek advice from a vet.

🚨ATTENTION 🚨 Watch out Tick’s are about! Busy time of year removing more and more ticks. Typical tick removed recently 🙈!!

Ticks will bite and feed on your dog for up to a few days, and drop off once they've had enough. During this time, it's possible the tick could give your dog a disease. Ticks like us humans too!
Ticks can carry a serious bacterial infection called Lyme disease. Dogs, cats and humans can all get Lyme disease, see RSPCA link below: https://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/general/ticks

Interesting read 🤓
….right now there are many health benefits to support keeping our boys united with their peanuts up to the age of 5 years. After that prostate problems may rear their ugly head and the risk of testicular cancer increases. That is the time to reassess.

Take your time making your decision, do not choose to castrate based on behaviour, it will not make big differences and in fact can make them worse!

Castrating all dogs at 6 months is becoming a thing of the past. Yes rescue centres have a duty of care not to allow dogs to procreate and be used as breeding machines when they leave. They will neuter all.

And of course our cryptorchid dogs (those with testicles that haven't dropped) need intervention to prevent cancer.

But right now there are many health benefits to support keeping our boys united with their peanuts up to the age of 5 years. After that prostate problems may rear their ugly head and the risk of testicular cancer increases. That is the time to reassess.

Take your time making your decision, do not choose to castrate based on behaviour, it will not make big differences and in fact can make them worse! (**edit** for those with nervous/anxious behaviours that is) That is what trainers and behaviourists are for...

Size DOES matter. The larger the dog the longer it takes for them to mature, castrate them too early and they will remain in a juvenile state.

I could talk endlessly about this topic. My 3 boys all have their crown jewels and I haven't any plans to whip them off anytime soon...

NEVER STARVE A DOG WHO WANTS TO EAT
I hate it when I read this. Dogs get hydration from food, and the very young or old would struggle without nutrition. Food is energy just feed the right stuff when they have an upset tummy…

Scrambled egg
Boiled white fish
Sweet potato
Butternut squash
Pumpkin
