Happy new year to all my adorable fluffy clients and their pawrents! Another fantastic year with some really lovely memories but lots of ups and downs... I got my dream job working with animals and 2025's goal is to apply and hopefully get accepted to do my student vet nursing and start the 3 year journey to becoming a qualified vet nurse (it's tough competition). Said job landed us a stray hamster! 😂 We lost our own bunny Rusty 🌈... but in memory of her managed to give a rabbit who had known nothing but neglect for years a loving home. We have had new and returning customers who have supported us through the whole of 2024's highs and lows and we can't thank you all enough for another wonderful year looking after some wonderfully cared for small animals.... It really makes my heart happy to see so many like minded people when it comes to fanstatic small animal welfare ❤️ Have a cracking new year everybun and myself and Mike hope to see you all again 2025! ✌️🎆🐾🎇

DISCLAIMER:
-We only offer our xpen and play room to rabbits.
- Only Guniea pigs will be allowed the use of our c&c cages.
-All rabbits must be fully vaccinated with both the Novivac and Yurvac vaccines (RHD1/Myxi and RHD2 and RHDV). Up to date vaccination certificates are required as proof before their stay with us. We also ask that rabbits are spayed/neutered and fully bonded if in pairs or groups.
-We ask that you supply your normal dry food and any treats for the duration of your pets stay as we do not want any upset tummies. We do provide greens/fruits/veggies/hay/water daily.
- Minimum booking of 4 nights.
-We throughly clean with F10/pet disinfectant inbetween each stay.
-We reserve the right to refuse any pet who appears to be in poor health on arrival. We do not want to risk the health to other animals including our own.
-If your pet becomes ill whilst in our care, we will contact you immediately however we do reserve the right to seek the advice/treatment from the vets I work at and our fantastic exotic vets at Rutland Animal Hospital. Any costs incurred must be paid directly to vets over the phone.
-Any medical issues or medication needed for your pets must be discussed before booking their stay.
-Animals are boarded at the sole risk of the owner and whilst every care will be taken, we shall not be liable for the loss, illness, injury or death of any animal in our care.
-In the unlikely event your pet passes away whilst in our care, we will contact you immediately and follow your wishes.
-We reserve the right to re-home any pet that is not collected after 7 days of agreed collection date.
-Payment must be made before your pets stay. Bank transfer must be made a few days before their arrival. Cash can be paid on arrival.
-A non-refundable 50% booking free will need to be paid to secure your booking.

So we have booked our own holidays for 2025...

We are away for a few days march, 1st bank holiday in may and end of september so we can now take bookings for the rest of the 2025 ☺️.

Please message to get your babies booked in. We now take a 50% deposit to secure bookings.
Also Rabbits will need to be vaccinated with both the normal Novivac vaccine and the new Yurvac vaccine.

We are having Christmas day today as I worked yesterday at the out of hours animal hospital... Everyone's had some carrot and sprouts and lots of yummy dried forage... There will be some treatos later before bed as well... Santa reports Harry, Smokey, Daisy and Mocha have all been very good this year.

Just a polite notice once again about the new vaccine for rabbits.

From the end of March/start of April all rabbits will need to be vaccinated with both NOVIVAC & YURVAC vaccines.

The novivac vaccine is the one thats been around a few years but the yurvac is brand new to the UK to cover the new varient of RHDV which has been killing rabbits across Europe and is suspected to be in the UK already.

Most vets do not have the staff, capacity or number of rabbits to run the vaccine days (Yurvac has a lifespan once opened of 10 hours and can only be brought in vials of 40 doses). Rutland House Vets is running vaccine drives and the 1st one is being held the 9th of Jan 25 and it filled up very quickly and has limited space.

The new vaccine is difficult to get hold of in the UK I believe vets need special licences to get hold of it and it has been out of stock recently.

I can't stress enough how important it is to get your rabbits on a vaccine drive list ASAP. Rutland House is allowing you to register your pets with your current vet history just to attend a vaccine drive with us as we do have the staff, capacity and number of rabbits to run them... But we are only running them once a month currently due to how difficult it is to get the vaccine.

So please please please ring Rutland House Vets St Helens to get this sorted as I will not be risking having non vaccinated rabbits stay with us after spring time (nasty stuff spreads in the warmer weather) and you will unfortunately lose your deposit if you've not got proof of both vaccines.

So I brought my first stray back from work 😂 Everyone meet Forest Gump McRobinson who was surrendered at work today and found his new forever home with us 🐹 Does he hate people... Yes... Yes 🫘 Also thanks Mike for being totally understanding when I walked in the door with no warning of a new pet 😂
