Thank you for your support! Moderation guidelines
The RSPCA is here for animals and we’d love our page to reflect this. There are so many important animal welfare messages to get across and discussions to be had; we’ve got a few guidelines to ensure all this important stuff doesn’t get lost! To help us keep animal welfare at the top of the agenda, please don’t post any:

• violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist posts, links or images
• comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or not-for-profit organisations.
• comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
• multiple successive off-topic or disruptive posts
• repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated
• posts containing specific details about cruelty cases (these should be reported to the cruelty line on 0300 1234 999, rather than posted here)
• posts which we feel may potentially impact upon prosecutions. Where an investigation is considered ‘active’, any comments made about the case may mean someone facing charges might not be in a position to have a fair trial and the trial could collapse. We reserve the right to delete any of these types of comments, or ban any user who infringes these guidelines. In addition to this, individuals who seek to persistently antagonise our supporters, and accounts which are suspected to be false profiles created with the intention of breaching a ban and persistently antagonising RSPCA supporters, will be removed from the page.

The legislation is confusing and may actually increase the risks. There is an solution, but it involves improving human behaviour, says freelance writer Elle Hunt

Madeleine arrived at RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre and Hospital with her littermate and mum when she was just 2-days-old 🥺

As she was part of a welfare case, court proceedings meant that she wasn't able to be rehomed for quite some time, but thankfully a fantastic foster carer gave her a wonderful home to spend her puppyhood.

Now 1-year-old, she's looking for experienced adopters who can provide her with the fun and energetic lifestyle that she craves!

Lulu arrived at Rspca Cornwall Branch alongside several other dogs after they were involved in a welfare investigation. While her companions have since moved on, Lulu is still hoping for her chance at a fresh start 🏡

Though she must be walked on a lead and muzzled due to her reactivity, Lulu handles it beautifully, and she even has a circle of her own doggy friends! She has lived with dogs before and could do so again with the right match.

If you could offer this gorgeous girl the love she deserves, apply here: https://bit.ly/4hrM0dk

Sky lanterns may seem beautiful, but they can have a deadly impact on animals and the environment 🏮

Currently, sky lanterns are only banned in Wales on all council land. We've been campaigning for years for England to implement the same ban, but sadly have had limited success.

To prevent causing danger to animals and their habitats, please avoid releasing sky lanterns this Lunar New Year. Instead, find other ways to celebrate with safer alternatives: https://bit.ly/3a4JA4U

After being found abandoned on New Year’s Day, we're pleased to share that Peanut is making incredible progress at RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre.

Despite everything this sweet girl has gone through, she has a spring in her step and a wag in her tail. Her confidence continues to grow by the day and she can now walk and explore her surroundings unaided!

She was the skinniest dog our animal rescuer had ever seen alive just 3 weeks ago, but now her future looks bright 🥰

With your help, we can make 2025 a year of hope and healing for more animals like Peanut. Join the Winter Rescue today: https://bit.ly/4h0QDfn

A resident in south-east London was in for a shock when they spotted this poor fox stuck in a garden chair! It's likely that she was attempting to jump onto the chair and instead slipped and got wedged between the slats 🦊

Thankfully, we were able to carefully free the v***n by sliding her legs out of the slats. She was checked over and then taken to the fantastic team at The Fox Project to recover. We hope she'll be back in the wild soon!

Appeal for information - please share 🔄

Two 5-month-old kittens were found in a cat carrier abandoned inside of a wheelie bin on Chelmsford Street in Darlington on 11th January 💔

Thankfully, they were found by a resident who heard meowing coming from the bin and discovered the two kittens, now named Brooke and Sydney, in a grey plastic carrier.

They're recovering well and will soon be transferred to one of our animal centres for rehoming. If you have any information that may help, please contact our appeals line on 0300 123 8018.

We received 22,503 reports about abandoned animals in 2024, equating to an average of more than 61 incidents every single day of the year. Find out how you can support our frontline teams: https://bit.ly/4h0QDfn

It's truly inspiring to see the younger generation showing kindness and care for every kind of animal! 🐞

Check out the incredible creativity of children who have been making insect homes. These young advocates are proving that every living creature deserves a safe space.

The fox mating period is upon us, which means you might be hearing some unexpected barks, screams, and howls during the night! 🌙

Don’t be alarmed - it’s completely normal behaviour, although it can be a bit startling for us.
