Thank you for your support! Moderation guidelines
The RSPCA is here for animals and we’d love our page to reflect this. There are so many important animal welfare messages to get across and discussions to be had; we’ve got a few guidelines to ensure all this important stuff doesn’t get lost! To help us keep animal welfare at the top of the agenda, please don’t post any:

• violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist posts, links or images
• comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or not-for-profit organisations.
• comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
• multiple successive off-topic or disruptive posts
• repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated
• posts containing specific details about cruelty cases (these should be reported to the cruelty line on 0300 1234 999, rather than posted here)
• posts which we feel may potentially impact upon prosecutions. Where an investigation is considered ‘active’, any comments made about the case may mean someone facing charges might not be in a position to have a fair trial and the trial could collapse. We reserve the right to delete any of these types of comments, or ban any user who infringes these guidelines. In addition to this, individuals who seek to persistently antagonise our supporters, and accounts which are suspected to be false profiles created with the intention of breaching a ban and persistently antagonising RSPCA supporters, will be removed from the page.

Attention bird keepers! 🐔

As we head into autumn, it’s especially important to stay mindful of the risks of avian influenza. Good biosecurity, registering your birds with Animal and Plant Health Agency and following the latest advice from Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) can make a big difference in protecting your flock.

This video from the University of Nottingham is packed with helpful tips and guidance to keep your birds safe and healthy: https://bit.ly/3VeDmGo

Do pets grieve when their animal friends pass? 💔

We don't know if pets grieve in the same way we do, but many show clear signs that they are struggling - they may be withdrawn, restless or seek comfort more than usual.

We're so proud of four of our rescue spaniels who have recently joined Greater Manchester Police as sniffer dogs, including little Nellie here 🐽

We're currently facing a capacity crisis, due to several large-scale rescues like this where we've taken in tens of animals in one go. There's never been a more urgent time to adopt. Find your perfect family member today: http://bit.ly/RSPCA-FindAPet

Ivy arrived at Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA) after her previous owner sadly became unwell and was no longer able to meet her needs.

With those she knows and trusts, Ivy is incredibly affectionate and loving, so she's looking for a calm and understanding home where she can continue to blossom.

Ivy requires corrective surgery for cherry eye. Her carers are currently building her confidence at the vets ahead of the procedure, and the cost of surgery will be covered.

If you’ve got a quiet home, a little patience, and a whole lot of love to give - Ivy might just be the dog you’ve been waiting for 🥰

Give Hope a like if her happy face made your day! 😁

Hope came into care as part of an abandonment case, so we don't know much about her past, but we do know that her future is bright!

She's a clever girl who thrives on mental stimulation, so she's sure to make a very rewarding companion with someone who would be willing to put the time and effort into her training.

Apply to adopt her from RSPCA Burton upon Trent & District Branch: https://bit.ly/3Vwi3zY
