Thank you for your support! Moderation guidelines
The RSPCA is here for animals and we’d love our page to reflect this. There are so many important animal welfare messages to get across and discussions to be had; we’ve got a few guidelines to ensure all this important stuff doesn’t get lost! To help us keep animal welfare at the top of the agenda, please don’t post any:

• violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist posts, links or images
• comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation
• solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or not-for-profit organisations.
• comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
• multiple successive off-topic or disruptive posts
• repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated
• posts containing specific details about cruelty cases (these should be reported to the cruelty line on 0300 1234 999, rather than posted here)
• posts which we feel may potentially impact upon prosecutions. Where an investigation is considered ‘active’, any comments made about the case may mean someone facing charges might not be in a position to have a fair trial and the trial could collapse. We reserve the right to delete any of these types of comments, or ban any user who infringes these guidelines. In addition to this, individuals who seek to persistently antagonise our supporters, and accounts which are suspected to be false profiles created with the intention of breaching a ban and persistently antagonising RSPCA supporters, will be removed from the page.

Christmas Tales of Kindness: Day 8 🎄

Daisy's story is one of hope and resilience. This gentle soul was abandoned by her previous owner, while battling cancer, a urine infection and large bladder stones.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication of her carers at RSPCA Essex South, Southend & District Branch, Daisy has undergone several surgeries and is now cancer-free and on the road to recovery thanks to the generous donations of supporters like you 💙

You can be a hero for more animals like Daisy this holiday season. Support the work of your local branch: https://bit.ly/4erwD2S

Sandra loves being a volunteer dog walker for RSPCA - Southridge - so much so she's been doing it for 22 years 👏

Whilst a spaniel devotee at heart, she's grown to love dogs she previously would have been wary of.

Do you have a fishpond in your garden? 🐟

With winter fast approaching, it’s a good idea to check on it daily to make sure it’s not frozen over. Poisonous gases can build up under the ice, which can be harmful.

Brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs, pugs, bulldogs, and Boston Terriers are bred for a cute appearance but pay a big price.

Their rise in popularity has led breeders to prioritise appearance over health, with poor breeding practices making it hard for them to do the simplest of tasks such as breathing, eating or moving 😞

Would you know the real cost of owning a flat-faced breed? Take our quiz to discover the health challenges they face: https://bit.ly/3Z4oDyW
