Our carefully selected mares include some of the best mother lines worldwide and by combining these with Europe's top stallions, we are producing horses of international quality.

Being a professional in the horse industry, I have experienced and witnessed a lot of negativity from mean girls to bullies to poor riding to animal abuse to lack of safety to poor sportsmanship and horsemanship.

I’ve forever been an advocate for the opposite of all of the above. I’m not sure it’s earned me any fans. Regardless, I will always stand up for what is right, even if I’m standing alone.

I hope to see…

Less pointing fingers, more helping hands.

Less Instagram, more education.

Less abuse, more understanding.

Less aggression, more compassion.

Less mean girls, more camaraderie.

Less upper level movements, more basics.

Less drilling, more hacking.

Less rollkur, more open throat latches.

Less perfection, more progress.

We need so much progress…

For the love of the sport. For the love of the art. Most importantly, for the love of the horse.

🙏🙏Thank you everyone. 🙏🙏
Honestly, I am overwhelmed by the amazing comments on what I thought was a fairly innocuous Facebook post about the last hoof of the last c**t at Caledonia being trimmed.
I am absolutely fine but it is definitely the time for me to stop breeding horses. At 72 years old, it’s becoming just too hard. Also, Brexit has made it incredibly difficult to carry on. Being so far north in the Highlands, we are at the end of the chain for any deliveries and services so it has always been a challenge and Brexit made it exponentially harder.
We have had some wonderful years, making lifelong friends through the privilege of breeding our beautiful Caledonia horses.
I am certainly not going to disappear from our horse world and will continue to go to shows, follow the Caledonia horses, celebrate with my gang of friends and have an opinion on almost everything.
So for better or worse my lovely friends, you are certainly not getting rid of me that easily.
I remain grateful to you all. 20 years of breeding horses has been one hell of a trip
and an absolute highlight of my life.

Well, a poignant day at Caledonia Dressage Horses.
The last foal to be bred at Caledonia having his final foot trim by our extraordinary farrier Keith H Hedley, our friend and neighbour for 45 years. We could not have had the success we have without the expertise and support of Keith.
This beautiful c**t is Valedictory Caledonia. Our final wave to dressage breeding and I believe one to watch.
He is V-Power / Floriscount / Royal Dance /Ramino.
An embryo foal of our famous Tiny, who is a daughter of our Queen, Loretta Live, and a direct granddaughter of the famous Loretta. End of an era.

We all have our fingers (hooves ) crossed for Plum’s Totilas son TITAN CALEDONIA in the Oldenburg Licensing in Ankum this weekend.

Young Caledonia horses making an impact in Germany.
I was delighted to receive this from the Oldenburg Society showing the success from the small number of Caledonia horses in Germany, The oldest is only 5 years old.
This also doesn’t mention Shadow Fairy Caledonia OLD who had a foal last year after being 3rd at Rastede and Bronze at the Bundeschampionat in 2022 or the very successful Lorna Caledonia at HP Horses in Denmark.
All were exported as foals and we are so grateful to the people who bought them and have produced them so beautifully.

Enjoying her life in the mare barn. First day they have been able to go outside since Saturday as the fields have been like ice rinks and that don’t have crampons😂

He is tall and very leggy, so I decided to keep him off the market until I felt he had grown into his strength and was able to better demonstrate his potential and look at him😳. Delighted 🤩

An absolutely charming filly who is a delight in every way which is no surprise coming from the famous Love Story family. She is enchanting in every way. Her balance, elasticity and athleticism are obvious. Her active hind legs are like pistons in every stride and her shoulder freedom is outstanding with great reach. She has three outstanding paces and is also very much on your side with a natural confidence and real engagement with us. She comes in a smaller package and I expect her to mature at about 16 to 16.1. From a great family of champions with her mother’s mother and sister both honoured as Oldenburg mare champions. Many people have said to me they would love one day to have a Caledonia horse. I would say don’t wait too long as we are downsizing.

I don’t know if they make fillies much prettier and sweeter than this Golden girl. She was born on the special day of the King’s Coronation. She has consistently shown us her outstanding canter and walk but kept her trot a secret until we had the inspiration yesterday to put an umbrella in the arena and hey presto. There it is and it is spectacular as we knew it would be. We love her talent and bold, engaging nature. She will be someone’s horse of a lifetime and best friend.

THOR CALEDONIA (TOTAL DIAMOND / FLORISCOUNT X LORETTA LIVE ) I can’t say how much I love this absolute machine of a colt. So much presence and charisma. A serious boy for the big stage. From the direct motherline of the famous LORETTA and his mother is a half sister to VITAL HIT OLD. He reminds me of WHISTLEJACKET, the great Stubbs painting. Pete suggested we should have called him THISTLEJACKET given his Scottish Highland origin 😂🥰
