How we started & how we ended👏 going back a few weeks ago Bonnie would’ve really struggled to walk with the boys or to even get in the van with the boys due to fear , Bonnie is nervous & becomes reactive defence mechanism. Slow introductions taking it at her pace, this is just the beginning & we are so proud of Bonnie how well she done with the boys with 0 reactions❤️🐾

Such a rewarding job , reactive dogs are not uncontrollable or bad dogs they just need the correct guidance throughout🤩

Recently we have been working on Bonnie around distractions due to her being reactive , Bonnie is a fearful dog of other dogs as she reacts just out of fear & turns on defence mechanism.
The past few walks we have slowly introduced her to the boys at her pace , no rushing into anything as we want to make her feel comfortable & to trust us throughout each process. Today we managed to work on some sharp turns creating space between Hunter & Sonny to then be able to walk along beside them working on some sits as well👏👏

Absolutely brilliant , nice calm body language & no fixaction❤️👌🏼

Worked on some on lead heel work , impulse control & also worked through some sits,loose lead around the other doggies for Bonnie as Bonnie is nervous & reactive towards others🐾

Finished result- walking past the boys , close to them & no fixation. Bonnie was engaging with myself throughout & done fab❤️

“Why so much luring”🐾 Because eventually we want to just use the command & the dog knows their position”Foundation in dog training is so important! Basics first. Get the dog interested,make it fun & use those treats , replace that meal because eventually you are going to see the balance within your dogs training🐾 Sonny’s focus is fab with or without distractions , consistency is key🤩 Sonny is sometimes a little distracted with the heel position due to smells etc so this is something we need to focus on whether that be in the house ,the garden & out on walks. Off & on lead🐕

Working on some ‘sits’ last night with Sonny & lead pressure,learning ‘sit’ means ‘sit’ even with pressure on the lead,distractions & distance. Wait on that release cue🙌💙🐾

Some training with Sonny tonight. Pressure & release on lead,heeling position & stops & sits🐾Great reinforcement method to teach your dog the pressure of the lead,your dog wants to go that way gets to the end of the lead you’re recalling your dog going the opposite way🐾 heeling position in there too & some stops & sits❤️ This clip was around distractions in a built up area🙌 great exercise to work on indoors too✌️🐶
