Knox is now helping others to shine 🖤🖤
We have been introducing him to wee Marmalade - our white ginger and white baby girl who was found straying on a farm.
Marmalade isn’t aggressive but she is very timid and flighty.
But today, seeing Knox get some strokes gave her the confidence to enjoy a wee head stroke too. Not sure she’d admit it but I think it wasn’t as bad as she’d feared.
And the good news…..seems Knox may well be ok living with another cat ❤️🥳

He’s making amazing progress and is going to make a brilliant companion for some lucky person(s).
He’s still a little shy but when he knows you he loves strokes and purrs like a train. Every chance he is a lap cat in waiting.
He may find a busy house with children and lots of comings and goings a bit much and we don’t know how he’d get on with other animals. But a calm adult home with a patient owner and a garden for him to explore once settled will see this handsome man flourish.

This may not seem like much, but our boy Knox took a big step forward today.
Not only did he purr (volume up….it’s quiet but it’s there) but he also moved! Stretching out, nonetheless!
We shared a video of this boy about two months ago, when he was just starting to become comfy with the “green finger”. He arrived some time prior to this as a very scared and unneutered straying Tom cat.
Day by day it doesn’t always feel like much progress is being made. But time and patience can work magic, and for Knox, today will be chalked up as a big win.
Well done lovely boy. Step by step you’ll get there xx

We wanted to introduce you to one of our longest-stay in-pen guests, Ed.
Gorgeous ginger boy Ed is 7 years-old and arrived with us in January 2022.
He was surrendered by his previous owners because they didn’t think he was happy living with them, and they were probably correct.
When his Mum’s boyfriend moved in, Ed didn’t like it very much. To manage this, they confined Ed to one single room of the flat which we suspect made him anxious. The boyfriend was tasked with feeding Ed each day, which we fear only exacerbated these anxieties.
When he came to us Ed hid himself away and became very defensive of his bed area. 8-months down the line and Ed has made good progress. He is a much calmer boy and, whilst he doesn’t really like being surrounded by other cats, he is happy enough with his pen space and the enclosed pen-back area to which he has access. What he really needs though is a home of his own.
Ed is not a “bad” cat, but he is a cat who wants things his way. He enjoys strokes on his own terms and when he is in the mood can be incredibly affectionate. He will raise a paw and swipe if you overstep his boundaries and he likes a grumble from time to time, but there isn’t any significant malice in his actions. He is happiest when he sees us first thing in the morning and doesn’t like it when he needs to go back into his pen after feeding time!
He certainly needs to be the only pet in an adult-only home with an owner who understands that not all cats want attention all the time, but we suspect that in the right environment, where Ed can be left to come and go as his pleases and interact if and when he wants to, he will thrive.
