Yesterday our beautiful outcross, Sahara gave birth to two lovely puppies (one boy and one girl). As this is her first litter I have decided not to register them as Tamaskan Dogs, but first see how they grow in looks and temperament before perhaps seeking registration for a second litter (or perhaps just registration for a pup that I keep). As you know I am 100% behind improving our breeds health and COI through the introduction of carefully selected outcrosses, however I am also highly aware of what a difference a single outcross can make to our breeds looks and character. I don't want to introduce anything on a whim and without careful research. In my opinion this 'test' litter is needed to ensure that Sahara's future line will only improve the Tamaskan and not introduce any faults in conformation, health or temperament that we will then have to contend with in the future.
Sahara is a direct cross between a German Shepherd and a Tamaskan and she has been mated to Blustag's Flynn, so these pups are 3/4 Tamaskan and I hope will look more Tamaskan like than their mother, who is more German Shepherd like in colour and in conformation, but only time will tell. For this reason these pups will not be registered and will not come with any paperwork (obviously i will include a pedigree and other info in their puppy pack) but they will also be reduced in price to reflect this.

We were brave and took three pups out for a walk today. The little one is Lemon, next size up is Zombie and then the big boy is Blustag's Storm. And three generations of human Tam lovers on this walk 😆
