👂🐶 Let’s Talk Dog Ear Health! 🐾
Did you know your dog’s ears need just as much care as their coat?
Healthy ears = a happier, more comfortable dog 💛
Some breeds grow hair inside the ear canal. While it’s completely natural, that hair can trap moisture, wax and dirt, reducing airflow and increasing the risk of ear infections.
✨ That’s why careful ear hair removal (plucking) and gentle ear cleaning are so important.
✨ Removing excess hair allows air to circulate
✨ Cleaning removes wax build-up and debris
✨ Together, they help reduce odour, irritation and infection
🧼 What we often see:
• Wax build-up
• Redness or irritation
• Trapped hair holding moisture

🐕 Signs your dog’s ears may need attention:
⚠️ Head shaking or scratching
⚠️ Red or inflamed ears
⚠️ Bad smells
⚠️ Sensitivity around the ears
Regular ear maintenance is especially important for breeds with floppy ears, hairy ear canals, or dogs who love swimming 🏊♂️

*Please note, not all dogs will allow their ears to be plucked. In a healthy ear plucking shouldn’t cause any discomfort however some dogs are just very sensitive. In these situations the ear hair will just be trimmed rather than plucked.
Ears with any level of infection will not be plucked as this will hurt the dog.
