The Sutterton Dog park has 2 paddocks for use.
The larger one, 2 acres is accessed through the Right hand of the two gates which is directly at the end of the driveway. Parking is on hard standing inside the gate. This paddock has a complete KC Agility set for hire, also a large indoor cabin with FREE Tea & coffee. Small gifts and cards for sale and rest rooms. On the gate post is Poo bag dispenser, Bin, and pooper scoopers. Also Orange Day glo flags to mark any accidents you may come across in your playtime and are unable to clear up.
The small 1 acre paddock, Access is the Left hand gate at the end of the driveway. Parking is just outside the gate. It is ideal for dogs who are not good at recall, and we are putting in play features such as agility and enrichment items to interact with, such as the sand pit, pool, tyres etc. On the gate post is Poo bag dispenser, Bin, and pooper scoopers. Also Orange Day glo flags to mark any accidents you may come across in your playtime and are unable to clear up.
If you have a dog with social issues then book both paddocks together so you have exclusive, private use and open the adjoining gate for the full experience. There may be a volunteer helper on site, but PLEASE READ BELOW for further info on that as it wont get in the way of your experience.
If you want to socialise your dog then check with Suzi on the community group , she organises play dates Wednesday 1pm, or Sunday 9-10 general play, 10 - 11 small dogs and pups. No need to book, turn up and hopefully meet others looking to socialise.
If you want to train your dog then check out the trainers for obedience, socialisation, puppy training and socialisation days, Agility and Rally training. Details of the trainers, dates and times are in the NOTES and also SERVICES sections
Booking is via suttertondogpark.skedda.com where on making your first booking you can make your account, choose your slot and come and enjoy.
The park is NOT A BUSINESS, but if you enjoy, please consider a donation. Suggested £5 per half hour per person/owner with their dog/s. Dogs and spectators, or your family are free. However donations of Cake, Help around the park, Fuel for mower, eggs etc are also welcome.
The whole park is maintained by volunteers who have day jobs! So when they do have time to come and help out then they try and work around yourselves. They are all dog savvy, but also understand some dogs need total isolation from people and other dogs. If you are at the park and need that privacy, PLEASE talk to the volunteers, they will not be offended, they wont bite and they will happily go elsewhere to work on the park or have a coffee break so you can have your walk in peace. They also love to hear any ideas or suggestions to help improve the park. Somethings we can do there and then, others take a day or two, and some ideas are on the “to do” list and we are working towards it. Its your park, your input makes it what it is!
After your run you can use the DIY Dog wash, or simply use this independantly of the park. Donations again are requested. The bath is a full sized Galavnised dog bath with ramp to access so no lifting of dogs. Places to secure your dog leaves both hands free and a hot water shower and soap means the best of baths. 2 dryers can cope with any coat. and a grooming table for that last brush up.
The whole Venue is also ideal for any local trainers looking for a specialised training venue, better than a village hall, we have a rubber matted floored hall, purpose built for dog training.for dog events. Ideal for clubs, individuals and societies for promoting responsible dog ownership and education.
