Common reasons: 1) when the dog is in fight or flight mode, pulls away from something it fears or anxiously pulls towards something. 2) Lack of training can contribute, especially for dogs that have never lived in a house or been walked on a lead before 3) adolescence is a challenging time for dogs & can lead to regression in training. Consider: 🐶 Proper Equipment Think about the equipment you use for training. A harness or lead that’s ill fitting can make walks uncomfortable for your dog & make it difficult for you to maintain control. The right gear that fits your dog well, enhances their comfort & your control during walks.  🐶Setting Realistic Expectations Lead walking is not mastered overnight; it requires time & dedication. Break the training into manageable segments, focusing on small victories & rewarding progress frequently. Here is a tale of 3 dog fear reactive dogs (have a fear or anxious around other dogs). Here we are introducing another dog to the initial 2 dogs from last week. I have trained Meg & her parents with the fundamentals first, at home and in the garden. When this was training was solid, we transferred this training to the external environment. Once Meg was comfortable with performing the fundamentals externally and with distractions, we started to introduce her to one dog and then a second dog.
