Yesterday we said our last goodbye to this little rocket of a dog. One of the founding members of Barks on the Bay, and our most loyal friend. We rescued him in rural Somerset as a 18 month old stray with no history and he’s been part of our family for the rest of his 17 years. Tough as old boots, tenacious, playful, energetic, infuriating at times, mischievous in the extreme, and with an incredible never-ending desire to eat (including things such as a whole loaf of bread and a birthday cake). He bounced back from a torn ACL with no medical intervention - just got on with it - and multiple malignant skin tumours being removed three years ago which left him with 36 stitches and looking like he’d been in a sword fight. Baxter was Head of Screening for our doggy visitors, and made friends with everyone (even if there were some grumbles at first - that was just to let them know who the boss is). He will be sorely missed by us all 💔
