Did you know we do minor cat grooming here at the clinic? 🐱

If your pet is in need of a good clip/brush and would tolerate this awake then book in with our nurse Bradee for a little pamper!

Poppit sat very quietly whilst we removed lots of dead hair, clipped a few matts, cleaned her face and clipped her nails.

If you feel your cat would not tolerate this awake do not fear! We have other options too. 🐱

Nala came in last Friday for her spay operation so we kept the day lovely and peaceful with lots cuddles before and after surgery.

🐾 February is dental month! 🐾

Here are some top tips to ensure great oral hygiene in both cats and dogs.

🦷 Teeth brushing- brushing your pets teeth regularly is the best way to keep their teeth clean and healthy.

🦷 Toys- choose toys designed to clean teeth whilst chewing.

🦷 Treats- avoid sugary treats to prevent bacteria build up on your pets teeth.

🦷 Bones, rocks and sticks- do not give your dog any of these things as they can damage teeth.

🦷 Dental chews- find chews that are specially designed to keep your pets mouth healthy. Please make sure you reduce your pets food when giving dental chews as they can be very high in fat.

🦷 Food additives- Plaque off, Nutraplaue and Logic gels can be a good alternative if you can not brush your pets teeth.

🦷 Dental diets- dental diets are specially formulated to break down plaque.

Maggie came to see Dr Reza for her second vaccination on Friday!

The experience was very positive and we used a lickie mat with doggie friendly peanut butter to keep her distracted! 🐶

February is dental awareness month where we are offering FREE dental checks with Bradee our registered veterinary nurse. 🐱 🐶 🦷

Signs of a problem with your pet’s teeth or mouth might include;
• Smelly breath
• Difficulty eating
• A change in behaviour
• Weight loss
• Pain or rubbing at the mouth
• Excess drooling or salivation
• Redness or bleeding around the gums

Even if you feel there are no current symptoms it’s worth coming to see Bradee to chat about prevention.

Could you be 'the one' to offer our darling Tilly her forever home? 🥹

This beautiful 14-year-old is such a friendly soul who loves a fuss, and will greet everyone that she meets!

She has sadly been struggling to get adjust to life in the cattery, as she was used to being outside a lot in her previous home.

Therefore, we would love nothing more than to find her a new home where she will have access to a rural environment, via a cat flap, once she feels safe enough to explore the sights & sounds of her new surroundings.

We also know that Tilly would prefer to live in a home without any dogs, and we feel that she would be happiest as the only cat in the household too.

The day journey of beautiful Rhia who came in for spaying last Friday 🐱

After admit with Bradee, Rhia was weighed and checked over by Dr Reza. Once deemed healthy for her general anaesthetic she was given a premedication and placed in a warm comfy kennel to settle in. Premedications help our patients feel at ease and less anxious- it’s during this time we will place an intravenous catheter and take any necessary bloods.

Rhia was then taken into theatre where she was induced for general anaesthesia. An endotracheal tube was placed along with full monitoring equipment including blood pressure, CO2, oxygen saturation, pulse and temperature.

Under general anaesthetic Rhia has felt no pain and the procedure is complete within 20 minutes.

Rhia was then monitored closely and kept warm until she had fully recovered. The first photo is just before Rhia was taken into theatre and the second was after Rhia had fully recovered, her intravenous catheter had been removed and her body suit had been placed on to prevent patient interference.

Rhia went home that afternoon and has been taking it easy with some pain medication on board.
