If you're squeamish about eyes, look away now!
No matter how many weird and wonderful things we see in practice, there are still some things that will surprise the team. Toby's eye injury being one of them!
Toby's sore eye wasn't clearing up with medication, though there was no clear sign of why this was, when looking at his eye whilst he was awake. It was decided that the next thing to do would be give him a general anaesthetic so we could proceed with a examination of his eye whilst he was relaxed. It took Marcin, one of our vets by surprise when he saw a tiny bit of material poking out of the third eyelid area. With careful precision, Marcin managed to remove the piece of stick whole, without causing further injury to the eye.
Toby recovered well, a picture of the lovely lad is in the comments. 😍
Stanley was brought into us for drooling on and off for a while. After checking his mouth in the first consultation, there was nothing visible and we could not see exactly what could be causing this.
We decided to admit Stanley for mouth investigations. Whilst under sedation, vet Armiche and nurse Zara, were able to open his mouth wide and found a long string to the side of his tongue. The string had caused some minor laceration to the underside of his tongue and side of the mouth also. The video shows you exactly how long the string was, ouch!
Stanley was soon back up and eating again once awake, enjoying a lot of attention and fuss! 💙
By law, cats must be microchipped by June 10th 2024, but why wait? 😺
We are running an offer throughout March to microchip your kitty cat at a discounted price of £12. Call your local practice to book in! ☎️
Watch this little video to see how quick and stress free the process is. 😻
* On the topic of microchips, we’ve recently seen a rise in Un-microchipped puppies
* The law came in from April 2016 for dogs to be microchipped from the age of 8 weeks.
When looking into taking on a puppy this is something that should be flagged if not done by the breeder already, so dogs that come from ‘puppy farms’ or illegitimate, unregulated breeders will be easier to track.
