Happy new year everyone 🥳

What an incredible year 2024 was another year full of spreading happiness and memorable interactions to the hundreds of people we visited.

Our biggest highlight of the year was definitely the moment Kelloggs was announced the winner of the 2024 BBC Make a difference awards. This is something that we will honour forever to be recognised by so many for making such a huge difference to the community.

We say it time and time again but we are beyond lucky to run Linking hearts therapy horses it really is the most rewarding job ever. Of course we wouldn't be able to do any of this with out the amazing Kelloggs he is really one in a million.

Thankyou all so much for all the on going support from everywhere we visit, friends and family. We can't wait to see what 2025 brings 🌟🌟🌟

World Mental Health Day... We believe Mental Health should be talked about everyday!!

Today Kelloggs visited the wards at Salisbury District Hospital watching the difference he makes when he walks in a room always brings tears to our eyes. One lady said ' Kelloggs hasn't just made my day he has made my entire life '

'Without a doubt the New Forest Nursing Home residents favourite visitor is Mr Kelloggs, the miniature horse. His gentle nature is enjoyed by everyone especially the residents, he visits the entire home including residents that are unable to come down to the lounge and is always exceptionally well behaved.'

🌟🌟🌟 We have some exciting news Mr Kelloggs has been selected as a finalist in the BBC Make a difference awards 🌟🌟🌟

Over the last 4 years Kelloggs has been making such a huge difference to everyone who meets him. Faces light up with happiness and joy when he walks in a room, He will then stand patiently listening to all the wonderful tales of yesteryears whilst receiving endless hugs and kisses. Kelloggs has had extensive training to provide participants with the safest confident interactions. He loves his job and all the attention he receives with it. We are so proud everyday and beyond lucky to have Kelloggs in our lives, being able to share him with the community is just the best job in the world!!

Last week we visited Muddy Boots Nursery School Kinson. Kelloggs had a great time meeting all the children who took it in turns to give him a lovely pampering session. Without even realizing the children were learning so much !!!

🌟Kelloggs recently surprised the patients and staff at Salisbury District Hospital, we arranged this through the hospitals Stars appeal charity who facilitated the visit.
After a long walk through the hospital corridors turning heads as he went he finally arrived on the wards where every face lit up. He worked his magic once again even acting as a distraction whilst a nurse performed a procedure on a little girl on the childrens ward.
Everyone loved him and can't wait for another visit 🌟

We often get asked if Kelloggs knows how happy he makes people, I think the smiles really do say it all !!

Last week we met a lovely lady called Judith who spent time showing us all her photos from when she went to Africa to teach which included having a pet donkey. Animals have a way of stimulating residents and can combat issues of loneliness and social isolation. Kelloggs has such a calming effect on residents, he just has this magic that gets something out of people that a human can't always do. Perhaps it's because he communicates in a non verbal way offering affection without demands.
