With parts of the UK set to experience stormy weather over the next couple of days this is a little reminder to check that any fencing you have is intact before letting your dogs out into the garden.

You may also find that your dog is easily spooked by high winds, heavy rain or thunder and this can increase the risk of them becoming lost on walks or escaping the garden. Where possible, keep them inside during the worst of the weather.

Beattie's story shows just how quickly a nice walk can turn to a very stressful situation indeed. Thankfully for Beattie and her worried owner she was wearing a Pet 24 tag and so the lovely people that found her could get in touch with us and we could reunite her with her very worried owner. Here is what we received from Beattie's human...

"Honestly I am so grateful! We are just back home and I'm having a soothing cup of tea whilst I wipe my tears!!! She had gone back to my car after being spooked by a lady waving her umbrella at her! I just couldn't keep up, although her tracker was
showing roughly where she was!

Finding I wasn't at the car she visited the Crop Mech offices opposite where she was
rewarded with a custard cream!! It was there from where they rang!! I'm sorry I was in such a panic when you called , but I was frightened she'd been picked up by
someone in a car, and she could so easily have been taken away.....but there are still
lovely kind people in the world ....."
