a dog has never died from missing one walk but has for being in the sun and heat !!!

A level 3 heatwave warning has been issued from midnight at the start of Friday to midnight at the start of Sunday. The weather is due to be very hot throughout the day on Friday. 🌡☀

Heatwaves can be very dangerous for the elderly, the very young and those with chronic illnesses. Please check in on neighbours, family, and friends to ensure they are prepared.

We all love tucking into our Christmas roast dinner – so much so that it can be tempting to share it with our beloved pets! 🐾🎄 However, it's important to remember that some of our favourite festive treats are highly toxic or hazardous to our furry friends and need to be avoided at all costs 🚫🙅

It's best to stick to your pet's main diet as much as possible as a sudden change can lead to a tummy ache, but if your pet is a healthy weight and you really can't resist, there may be parts of your Christmas roast that are safe to feed in small amounts. This is a great image created by the PDSA depicting the different steps of body language that dogs may go through when stressed. They usually start at the bottom of the ladder and work their way up but can miss some stages out. It can be useful to discuss with children to help protect them and make them aware of what their dog may be trying to tell them. A common time for children to get bitten is when they think a dog wants a ‘belly rub’ rather than realising they are scared 🐾.
