Can you help us? We’re looking for the perfect home for one of our special dogs – German shepherd, Lauryn.

🐶 Lauryn is almost two years old with a loving personality.
🐶 After being assessed for becoming a guide dog it was decided that due to her big personality, she wasn't suitable for the guiding role.
🐶 A big, excitable dog and can be vocal in exciting situations; she can be strong on the lead and have an aversion to other dogs.
🐶 Lauryn has very good house manners and is very loving in the home.
🐶 She is unable to be with young children (primary age) and other dogs due to needing some more training.
🐶 Not suited to living with other pets but will be a lovely pet for people that are used to big dogs.

To rehome on a permanent basis, we would require you to meet her at least once before any rehoming can take place. If you’re interested, please email [email protected] with a brief summary of your family life, home, and routine.

Revoke all licences (PEL) for commercial breeders of laboratory animals. Require all Project Licences (PPLs) applications be reviewed by an independent Non Animal Methods (NAMs) specialist committee. Revise s24 ASPA 1986 to allow review. Urge International Regulators to accept & promote NAMs.

Let's talk rabbit teeth.
As most bunny owners know it's important to keep rabbits teeth in good condition.
dental checks with your vet and plenty of high-quality roughage are the key to a happy bunny.

Hay is the single-most important element of your rabbit's diet, not only because it maintains gut function, but because it requires a good deal of chewing - just the thing for your pet's teeth!

This picture is from one of our trustees who's bunny had to have dental work done on an outward growing tooth that was starting to cut the inside of Jeff's mouth. Because the tooth grew in the wrong direction he had to have regular checks and operations to stop it piercing through his cheek. the only signs he showed of any problem was watery eyes.
Would you know the signs of a problem with your bunnies teeth?

Some signs to look out for
Selective eating or not eating as much as normal
Watery eyes
Wet chin (from excessive salivation)
Nasal discharge
Bulging eyes
Tooth grinding
Lumpy feeling jaw
Excessive drinking
If you notice any of these a vet trip to rule out teeth problems is best.

As it's that time of year where chocolate is life. Here's a tip about why dogs shouldn't eat it.

Chocolate contains theobromine (a compound poisonous to dogs). How dangerous chocolate is depends on the type and amount eaten and the size and health of your dog. If your dog has eaten chocolate, the best course of action is to contact your local vets as soon as possible for advice.

Keep your pets inside through the hours of 12am and 3pm. These are the worst times for top heat. I'd rather dogs be peeing in my kitchen then dying on the street. Be smart.

Airedale Vets Keighley Surgery.
Our Keighley Veterinary Surgery has been open six days a week for nearly of the last 15 months but clients have not be allowed into the surgery. We are now allowing people into the building for those people who want to come in for our afternoon appointments. If you prefer to stay outside this is still possible. Masks are needed to be worn both for outdoor and indoor consultations. We are pleased to say that although our surgeries have remained open throughout the Covid19 outbreak no one has caught Covid19 at our surgeries.

What might be even more eye-catching than a pink dolphin? Well a bright pink dolphin and her adorable tiny calf. A striking presence and a resident of the Calcasieu Lake in Louisiana, ‘Pinky’ the dolphin has recently spotted swimming with her baby, who delightfully looks just like her.
