🤩 We’ve been in full preparation mode this week so far here at Woofing Around!

🤎 You know us, we love an aesthetically pleasing environment for you and your doggos to ensure that they have THE BEST time whilst here with us!

🫣 I think we may have overdone it on the toy front, but hey ho, if those pooches are happy, then so are we!!

❓If you look closely there are some hints at a couple of our new additions for 2025, but, we’re remaining tight lipped for now! We’re certain those doggies will love them though!

🪚 More progress on one of our brand new additions for 2025 today! We’re not letting you in on the secret just yet but we’re certain your pooches will love it!

🪵 Also, our logs have arrived for our second new addition for 2025 - a log pile for your doggos to sniff around, climb on and…..probably wee on! 😂

That’s it for works this week but we’ll be back in the paddock shortly to do the paving and complete the new additions ready for when our gates re-open!

🐾 We’ll see you all very soon - the current re-opening goal is late March/early April but as always, we’ll keep you all updated along the way!

🧚 Today I dragged the paddock fairy in to get on with some maintenance….

✅ Jump posts concreted in!
✅ CCTV posts in place!
✅ Drainage in place along the front of the shelter ready for some nice new paving!
✅ HUGE grass sods removed from around obstacles!
✅ Sandpit emptied ready for the new sand!
And…
The beginnings of a brand new addition have been set in place - keep an eye out for further progress updates over the coming weeks!

🌱 Oh, and the grass is looking nice and lush!

🐶 We can’t wait to have you all back!

🐶 February has arrived - we’ll say that again, FEBRUARY has arrived, FINALLY!! How looooooong was January?!

🔨 We’ll be venturing into the paddock this month to make a few improvements, do some maintenance and install a couple of new goodies for your doggos to enjoy! 🌱

🐾 We’ve got our fingers, toes and paws crossed that the weather remains on our side and we can reopen for our target of late March/early April! Who knows, we might be super lucky weather wise and get those gates open sooner!

😱 Our fifth named storm of the season, storm Eowyn is set to hit the UK this weekend, but, worry not, we are busy away in the background preparing for our return - hoping for late March/early April!🤞🏼

🐶 We look forward to welcoming you all back - in fact, we CANNOT WAIT!! The paddock is looking FAB-U-LOUS - mucho grass! 🌱

💔 Heartbreaking and infuriating for the land owners!

Police are appealing for information relating to a sheep attack in Baildon on the 27th November 2024 between 1230 and 1300h.
The dog, described as a light chocolate brown Labrador cross Poodle was off the lead when it attacked a sheep on Hope Farm in Baildon. The owner of the dog was described as a white male wearing black running clothing.

The sheep survived.

The farmer explains that since he has taken over the lease of the land earlier this year, approximately 1/3 of dogs are off the lead and not keeping to the footpath that runs across the land.

Operation Recall is a national program launched in 2023 to address the increasing number of dog attacks on farm animals. This initiative, a collaboration between animal welfare groups like Naturewatch Foundation and the RSPCA, the National Rural Crime Unit (NRCU), and police forces, aims to educate dog owners and reduce livestock attacks across the country.
Operation Recall seeks to:
• Increase awareness among dog owners and walkers about the importance of preventing attacks on farm animals.
• Utilize Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) legislation to issue community protection warnings and notices.
• Reduce the overall number of livestock attacks.
Livestock worrying is when a dog attacks or chases livestock on agricultural land or is at large in a field with livestock, which can result in significant injury or suffering and in the worst cases, death of the animals involved. This also has devastating consequences for livestock keepers, causing personal distress as well as significant financial costs.
Under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953, it is a criminal offence for a dog to actively worry livestock and dog owners risk prosecution.

🤦🏻‍♀️ What a difference a year makes!

😬 On this day, last year, the paddock was completely ruined by the rain!

😃 Today, it looks 10000000% better - we still have GRASS 🌱, what a relief!! 🤪

🐶 We close our gates for winter at 4.30pm today and we’re fully booked again!
