Well saying goodbye to Bruce was difficult but it allowed us to spend a rare afternoon together.

We stopped off at one of our favourite hotels up north for a bite to eat and a few drinks.

I only wish we could have stayed over but I have a zoo to get back to and we both need to be up early.

I very rarely leave the house so I have to grab these moments whilst I can and my memory of taking Bruce to his forever home will now always be a happy one 🥰

Good morning

This is a very bittersweet announcement and one that makes me cry.

I have finally put my big girl pants on and booked these three in for spay and neuter; Sittingpretty Painted lady, Butterfly Bengals Rockstar and Sittingpretty Betty Boop.

I have been delaying this for so long as I’ve been contemplating having one more litter from Lady x Rocco and I didn’t want to spay Betty until Lady was ready as I would like them to leave together if possible.

I also don’t want to let go of the past 17 years and the immense happiness and fulfilment that breeding has brought me.

When I say this is the end of Sittingpretty Cats, it really is.

I do still have Snazzy and Wanda entire but I might offer them as a breeding pair or individually to a serious and responsible breeding program as they only had the one litter of two beautiful girls together and they have great potential.

The Savannah kittens that are still available are my very last ones that I will ever have.

I have absolutely loved every minute of my return after my break from breeding but I know it’s time to hang my breeding shoes up.

I am now on a new path and it’s the one that I need to follow, as gut wrenching as it is for me.

This morning the beautiful Kashew (now Whisper) left for her new home in Scotland.

This ofcourse left Koffee on his own but my beautiful Mustard has taken him under his wing and has been giving him cuddles.

I am super excited to announce that Kashew is now reserved and will be leaving me next week for Scotland where she will join Merlin and Flora (2 other Sittingpretty cats).

Happy Friday everyone.

I need your help 🙏

All of these five Savannah kittens are now over 6 months old and still haven’t found their forever 🏡

We have Koffee and Keshew from one litter and Shyler, Lily and Squealer from another.

I don’t want them to get to an age where people don’t consider them kittens anymore and have no interest. Each one has a wonderful temperament and deserves to be happy on someone’s sofa.

Today started off really well but then I found poor Bruce this afternoon with a horrible paw injury (I have carefully selected what to show).

I had him to the vets immediately as sadly there was quite a lot of blood in his pen.

I have absolutely zero idea what could have happened and the vet couldn’t pin point anything either. I can only think the injury was caused by the metal wire mesh at the front of the pens but it is designed for cat pens so I just don’t know.

He is having surgery in the morning and will have to have some flesh removed but his paw should work just fine.

He was set to go to his new home next week so I’m not sure if this will delay or prevent that but his health is my priority.

Just another day in my cat breeding life. It’s never straightforward. There are many ups but there are also many downs 😢

And we are off!

In all of my years of breeding, these kittens have been the most stubborn pair with weaning 🤣

They are now 7 weeks old and despite trying so many different foods, they have touched any of it (other than accepting watered down mousse through a syringe).

So today, I’ve gone back to basics and introduced kitten milk and then poured it onto the raw.

Only the spotted girl has shown interest so far but I think her sister will follow suit very soon 🙏

This is such a relief!
