Little legs way spayed yesterday and is doing very well.

We did purchase Noodle on the active but decided against breeding (it was never in our plan) as I want to put as much effort as I can into my last year of breeding bengals and savannahs.

I’ve never been one for making money out of animals. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Happy new year to all of my wonderful customers of 17 years.

I only ever intended to breed for 10 years maximum but somehow I’m still here!

As most of you will know, I was thrown a huge curve ball and this meant that I had to press to pause button on my breeding program for the last few years.

I am delighted to say that 2025 will see the return of Sittingpretty kittens. Who’s excited?

But sadly, all good things must come to an end so my return will be short lived. I will hopefully have litters from each of my remaining and current girls and then I will start to wind things up.

Life has taken a different direction and I have so much more that I want to do. Dedicating 17 years of my life to the most labour intensive and mentally taxing job has made me realise that it’s time to start looking after myself and live out my dreams.

With that said, I can’t wait for the return of beautiful Sittingpretty kittens. It’s been far too long!

Wanda is visiting Snazzy as we speak. Eek!

She nearly made it to her 4th birthday but she just couldn’t hang on, nor would I want her to as she began to suffer.

Celeste has crossed the rainbow bridge and taken a piece of my heart with her.

It became evident very quickly overnight that she was really struggling to breath. If I touched her, it became worse. However, just before I put her in her carrier to go to the vets to be pts, she rolled over on her back and let me gently stroke her belly.

This will have been painful for her and I know it was her way of saying goodbye.

I am absolutely heartbroken. She was the most beautiful girl inside and out.

She leaves a huge whole in my heart 💔

We still have a very poorly girl but in a matter of days with lots of care, love and attention, Celeste has gone from not drinking, eating or toileting, soiling her bedding (as she didn’t have the strength to get to the tray), breathing very badly and almost fixed pupils to having a play this morning, eating some treats (but not yet food) and she’s had a poo!

We are far from out of the woods and we really have no clue what’s actually going on (I’ve now had two completely different vet diagnosis) but I believe your positive and healing thoughts along with medication and love in abundance is helping her.

I just hope she continues to go in the right direction and is strong enough to beat whatever is making her so poorly.

I’ve been so upset and so worried. I cried this morning when this happened.

I have an update on Celeste and I’m afraid it’s not a good one.

Her breathing has been really worrying today so we have had her to the vets.

The vet thinks she can feel a tumour and that she has fluid on her lungs.

We have some anti inflammatory medication for her but the vet thinks tonight may be critical and that we may have to put her to sleep in the next few days.

I can’t understand how this could all happen so suddenly but she suspects when she was ill last time that she had cancer then and it’s been sat dormant until now.

It seems that it may be too late to save her and the vet said that even if we perform many more scans, biopsies etc, it will lead to the same outcome…euthanasia or death.

Please pray that she is wrong and that the medication helps her turn a corner 🙏

I can’t bear to see another of my cats suffer. I’ve lost at least 5 cats to cancer now 😭

So the plan over Christmas was to return Tala and Haja to the house with the addition of Flora.

However Miss Celeste is not herself again so I’ve brought her over instead. I can keep an eye on her much better in the kitchen than the cattery.

You may remember she was very poorly over the late summer and several tests and scans later, we never actually got a definite answer to what the problem was.

But she did have quite an aggressive course of antibiotics and that seemed to sort the problem out.

Celeste is one of my cats that has pica and my instinct tells me this is where the problem lies. I doubt it’s a blockage but I wonder what all that foreign material (largely bedding) can do to her insides and intestines.

I know that cats have stronger stomach acid than us but I’m not sure they were built for eating bedding, plastic and whatever else they shouldn’t.

It’s unfortunate timing with vets being closed over Christmas but if anyone knows how to care for her, it is me.

I’ve been here many a time before and she is in the best hands.

She is not extremely ill so don’t panic but I know the signs. She isn’t herself and she’s lost weight again.

She’s enjoyed a bit of M&S canned salmon for tea so she is still eating, just not as I would like her to.

I will keep everyone updated on her progress.

Meanwhile, Tala and Haja seem perfectly happy in the cattery, especially getting to know Flora, Scampi and Wanda so I’ll stop beating myself up about them being there.

I feel just as much mum guilt with my cats as I do my son 🙈

I had to have a move around last week as the situation between Haja and the others had gotten too bad. Haja and Tala are currently in the cattery (making friends with Flora) before they return to the house as a trio.

Meanwhile, look how happy and relaxed Winter and Nelly now are.

Winter would not leave the cat tree bed for anything and Nelly would hide under the sofa all day.

It’s so hard when cats don’t get along but I’ll always do my best to find a resolution.

We are having a bit of a tidy through Buddys toys hence the boxes.

Noodle does not like the fireworks at all so we are having extra cuddles. The cats are coping much better than the dog.

So the re-introductions went well. This time last year Stumpy was petrified of Haja. Now she’s sharing a cat tree with him and we have one big happy family.
