Thanks to Tessa for coming over to judge, we didn’t envy you judging the Bonny Pony with 15 entries or the fancy dress!
Our next events that are open to own horses too are the senior festive dressage on Sunday 14th Jan and the Show jumping training competition on Sunday 28th Jan.

Show Jump Training Competition
Sunday 28th January

Clear round course practise

Warm up arena opens 9am
Section 1
9.15am course walk
9.20am 1a - poles on the ground
9.40am 1b - raised poles
Section 2
10am course walk
10.05am 2a - 30cm
10.25am 2b - 40cm
Section 3
10.45am course walk
11.05am 3a - 50cm
11.25am 3b - 60cm

Each combination has two rounds at same height or one over each different heights in that section @ £12 (pre entry - Facebook message and bank transfer) or £15 cash on day (space permitting - we will update to say which have spaces left). WEC clients can do it on a hired horse (total cost inc entry fee £32). Limited spaces available.
Times are approximate and subject to change once entries are done. Riders can walk the course at beginning of each section.

Warm up in one indoor arena before round (numbers will be limited in there) then ride the course in other indoor arena (run like normal clear round but without rosettes and show attire is not compulsory but riders must be smart and safe -correct hat/boots). Lead rein or assistance is permitted in poles and raised poles only. Assistance permitted in 30cm only.

Our Pony Club Centre Branch (Throstle Nest) had huge success at Howdens Pony Club Centre Equitation Competition again this year. They competed against other centres from all over the UK.

The competition involved each of team members performing a dressage test and show jumping round which were videoed and sent to the organisers to be judged.

The two teams were placed a fantastic 1st and 2nd in their section against 33 other teams. All the team members on the riding school ponies were also placed individually too with 3 members gaining 1st place, 3 gaining 3rd place, 1 6th and 1 10th in their sections.

We so very proud of this achievement, and would like to thank Howdens and the Pony Club for running a wonderful competition.

Three of our Pony Clubbers hired their favourite horses to take part in yesterdays festive dressage competition and got fabulous placings with Walter in 3rd for Intro, Smiler in 2nd and Bentley in 4th for Prelim. Well done Isla, Poppy and Georgia 🎄🎅🐴

Thanks to all who came to yesterday’s Junior Festive Dressage Competition! It was a lovely day! We had Christmas chocolate lollies for the riders, selection boxes for the winners, gold chocolate reindeer’s for the best dressed and rosettes 1-6th. It was lovely to see faces old and new. Well done to all competitors and thank you to Caroline Birkett for Judging 🎄🐴🎅

When you have clients that stay in touch and arrange to come back and visit the staff and favourite ponies 7 years later when coming back to visit England after emigrating!

Both these pairs of siblings became friends through pony club many years ago! It was so lovely to see you all together again, do some reminiscing and find out how you’re all doing now you’re all grown up!

We have many clients like this that still ride with us regularly, when in the area or home from uni or just simply support us and it’s just lovely and makes the hard work worth it, so thank you!

Every one of our staff was or still is a pony club member and it’s lovely to see!

Throstle Nest Pony Club is where you make friends for life ❤️

Update 3/12/23
We have made the decision to rearrange todays senior dressage competition due to most people being reluctant to travel due to weather.
We do however have the following options available:
- move your entry to the rearranged date of Sunday 14th January 2024 (can still wear your festive attire)
- arrange to still come today to hire one of the indoor arenas to ride in if you can still get to us (we are clearing the driveway now) so you can still school despite the weather
- request a refund of entry fee

Our pony club has an active centre branch called Throstle Nest currently with 108 members, if you ride with us at wilsden and would like to get involved or find out more about joining then speak to a staff member or message us on here. Members can be 5-25 years old.
