Good luck to all those opening their GCSE results today, just a reminder, these results won’t define you as people!

Hopefully you’ll get what you wanted and can go on to the post 16 destination of choice, if not there are alternatives out there.

If you don’t get the results you wanted, but you did everything you could at the time, then still be really proud of your efforts!

Take a look at some of these amazing bespoke sessions throughout the summer being held at Wilsden Equestrian Centre (where we are based).

We know from our experience and research that having time away from something only makes anxieties more difficult to manage, so we want to offer some bespoke sessions throughout the school holidays, so that our young people are not having 6 weeks away and are then more anxious to come back.

The Changing Lives Through Horses sessions are for existing young people who have been coming in the last academic year, or are already attending lessons at WEC.

It’s been widely found that young people with additional needs and/or anxieties are far less likely to participate in hobbies or extra activities out of the classroom.

Emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) is on the rise and with no one stop shop for a solution or cure, it is only going to increase in coming years.

Up to 5% of the current UK school population are faced with EBSA.

We already work with young people who are struggling with EBSA, get in touch if you think we can help support you or your child in their current situation.

We hope everyone had a great world book day yesterday. We’ve seen some incredible costumes on social media.

Reading is so important when accessing the fundamental skills in any form of learning or education. Not having the right reading age, can often be the first and biggest barrier to a young person being successful with their learning.

Finding a book or text in a subject or category that you’re interested in is the first step to enjoying reading. There are lots of great horse related books, magazines and articles out there to support a young person’s reading.

Over the last year or so, we’ve worked with young people from all the above schools as well as those who are being home educated.

The students who come to our sessions and access our specialist provision, gain loads of new skills, as well as improving their confidence, self-esteem and this has a positive impact on a number of factors including their mental well-being and their communication skills.
