Remember that your journey to and from Slamseys is likely to be very busy this afternoon and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons as Blackley Lane is being used to take traffic to the car park for the Chelmsford Live event at the racecourse.

You will be able to get to Slamseys.

Driving: follow the one way system. The public footpaths (from the steps by Blackley Lane bridge and just past Blackley Lane Cottages) that cross the field to the racecourse car park will be open, so please take care as there may be pedestrians on Blackley Lane.

Walking: walk to Blackley Lane along the public bridleway from the Great Notley Country Park or join it from Rontgen Place on Horizon 120. You cannot get through by Gridserve.

From 12 noon until 9pm each day, Blackley Lane will be one way from London Road to Moulsham Hall Lane. You will not be allowed to turn left onto Moulsham Hall Lane so will have to take the long way round to get back to London Road (via School Lane, Great Leighs or Willows Green and Rayne).

From 9pm this will be reversed and Blackley Lane will be one way from Moulsham Hall Lane to London Road.

We will stop cutting from the plantation this weekend, but we still have a lovely selection of trees in the Christmas Tree Barn. We will be opening for slightly reduced hours from 9-5 next week, and we will keep going for as long as we still have a good selection of trees. There is a chance we may have sold out by next weekend so to avoid disappointment please come and pick your tree this weekend or early in the week. If you already have your tree, this is your reminder to keep watering it 🎄https://slamseys.uk/christmas-trees/

We are open 9am - 6pm during the week, 9am - 5pm Saturdays and 10am - 4pm Sundays. https://slamseys.uk/christmas-trees/

At Slamseys we have lots of lovely nordman fir Christmas trees to choose from in the barn. We do recommend cutting off the bottom 2cm before putting it in your stand, just like with cut flowers, as this helps it to take up water

To help you decide which tree is right for you follow our "treetorials" where we tell you more about a different species each day.

Why buy a real tree? Real Christmas trees are sustainable, create a habitat for wildlife and support the rural economy. A 6 foot tree takes 10 years to grow, absorbing carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen the whole time. They are fully recyclable afterwards, and we think they are all charmingly unique too. Come and find the right tree for you and your space from our Slamseys Christmas Tree Barn, and create those precious Christmas memories. Open from Wednesday 27th November.
