4th August Brampton near Carlisle. CA8 2HD with Annette Harper there is some lovely dog friendly accommodation near by and we could fit a couple of caravans on hard standing if required too. Two hour workshop. Dogs will work individually so suitable for reactive dogs. £45

These will be open on the website until the evening before and are paid for at the show.

Just a little heads up people…
There’s a local ‘dog park’ with dog agility equipment popping in their field….
It’s not to KC specification and is questionable safety wise… if you do come to Phase Purple to train I would highly recommend you do not do any equipment you have not been trained to use…
incorrect training or use of the equipment could seriously Injure your dog….
Jumping jumps that are too high….
Slippy contacts not coated in rubber crumb…

The last two days has been all about Scent Hurdling UK instructor training. I’m
Pleased to say I have passed the assement 🎉🎉🎉 so scent hurdling will
be coming to Phase Purple soon 🙂 looking forward to the have a go session we have planned on the 1st March 🙂

Something a little different

Barn Hunt is a brand new sport to the UK for dogs and handlers, it’s teamwork. Your dog uses natural instincts to find hidden tubes and you have to learn to read the dog’s signals to know when the rat tube(s) (not live rats) has been found and tell the judge. For some dogs ratting comes naturally, for others it is more scent detection.

We have two events booked for 7th February, steeplechase in the morning and course running in the afternoon. the afternoon session is shorter and has fewer spaces available.

Training cancelled again Monday, so sorry guys it’s just not safe enough for people to travel. Sticks also keep coming off the trees and making little holes in the Polytunnel…
I may have time Saturday afternoon to run a couple Of catch up training sessions. These will be down at Inglewood near Penrith…

There is equipment back outside now if you want to book time to practice with contacts and jumps… I haven’t got weaves out there yet… please be aware of the weather you won’t be allowed to book if it’s particularly wet or frozen due to the safety aspects and saving the ground a little.

Wednesday night class… it hasn’t got above -3 today, the drive is an ice rink you need a four by four to Get past the ice and the poly tunnel Frozen in places.
Training is cancelled for tonight and I will look at getting an extra session in as a catch up on a weekend in the near future..

Hi we have decided to cancel training this evening (Tuesday) due to the weather… we are hoping to run an extra session on a Sunday in the next couple of weeks as a catch up session.

In Grants words…. It is with deep sadness that we share some devastating news, after a very tough time in hospital, Helen Ashenhurst has sadly lost her battle with cancer, she passed away at 12.35 on the 23rd December. Helen was a much loved Gransey, Mother and partner of Grant for more than 23 years. Life just won’t be the same without her.

Helen was a fabulous trainer for us, helped so many people start in the crazy world of agility. She was often at our shows and a fantastic team member at Phase Purple. Often scooting about on the little grey mobility scooter. Helping lots in the secretary office, nipping to the shop for supplies, scriming and booking in. She always had good banter and positive things to say to everyone. We will miss her greatly.

We have a four week dog agility taster session starting next Thursday this costs £45 for the four weeks, in these sessions we will go over foundations for agility, you may not get to use all of the equipment in that first four weeks as we need to make sure you are safe before moving onto the next thing..
It is essential to have basic obedience before starting agility and also that your dog is ok in the company of others otherwise the class situation may not be suitable and a one to one session may be better.

Really sorry guys but kelly can’t train this evening and I haven’t had chance to organise anyone to cover. She has offered to do an extra session on Thursday or Saturday.
Anyone wishing to come this evening to practice you are more than welcome just remember to only use equipment you have been shown how to use please.
