MAIN STREET/CARLISLE ROAD RESURFACING WORKS - 17th July for 14 days

Following concerns about this road closure, we asked Highways to clarify which junctions would be closed and when. Their response is as follows...

Our team has established a plan of action for your enquiry and we would like to tell you about it.

We can confirm that from Friday 17th July until 20:00pm on Sunday 19th July, the following junctions will be closed:
Elmfield, Front Street, opposite the Police station and A6071 Longtown Road. The remaining junction into Brampton will be open from 20:00pm on Sunday 19th July. All the above junctions will then be open. (This doesn't quite make sense and we have asked for further clarification but assume it means that Union Lane and High Cross Street will be open during this initial closure)

We then intend to close the section through the town from Front Street to Union Lane on Monday 20th July. Once completed, we will then open the section before moving on to the section between the Nook and The Sands on Thursday 23rd July.

Below is the initial information received:
A temporary road closure has been put in place to allow Balfour Beatty to carry out resurfacing works which are expected to commence 17th July 2026 and anticipated to take 14 days to complete.

Please see below details of the extents of the closure and alternative route, the relevant legal notice can be viewed athttps://api-gb.one.network/downloads/tm/4586/car-31-26-c1046-a6071-brampton-all-traffic-notice_e710d568d6.pdf and a location plan clearly showing these extents can be found on one.network via link https://one.network/?tm=GB149896473

Location:
C1046, Brampton from its junction with the A6071, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 140m; and
A6071 Brampton, from its junction with the C1025, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 730m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A6071, C1046, and the A69 and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

Should you have any queries in relation to this restriction please contact the Highways Hotline by calling 0300 373 3736 or via the Cumberland Council website, quoting the reference TTROC/18864

This is Stanley...he is totally adorable and always such a good boy when he comes for his hydrotherapy ❀️ He has been attending since Oct 2019!

The big difference with Stanley's sessions is that his devoted Mum and Dad don't stay with him. This is because that is what Stanley needs to focus and to get the best out of his sessions (he was a little monkey when Mum used to stay πŸ˜‚πŸ΅). He is happy to be left for it to be just the 2 of us.❀️❀️

At Northwest K9 Hydrotherapy every dog is treated as an individual and what is best for the dog always comes first...

I'm sure you will all agree that Stanley is the cutest little boy... I just love him 🐾😍🐾

I've really been spoiled recently... A lovely bunch of flowers (thank you Finn) then a special Hydro Gin (thank you Buddy) and an amazing bottle of red wine (thank you Dash). Sally was the QC for the wine... she approved Dash's choice πŸ˜‰ Needless to say my patients know me well ❀️❀️

This adorable little lady is Romanian rescue, Soka. Her amazing Mum came prepared with a muzzle to her first session (she is muzzled trained) as she could be unpredictable around strangers and new situations. After a discussion with her Mum we agreed to try the session without the muzzle. You might wonder why?

The simple answer is her behaviour was likely due to fear of the unknown. Working within her comfort levels, at all times, and only moving on when she was confident saw her in the water, walking and taking treats off me by the end of the session. We are now working on permissive touch but again I only proceed when she is ready and stop when she wants me to.

This approach is not reserved for nervous or reactive dogs..but EVERY dog. They are all allowed to go at their own pace. That way we are able to get the best results and waggy tails.

Soka is such a cutie and her Mum is fabulous ❀️🐾🫧❀️🐾🫧
