We had a super Autumn 🍂 6 mile hack today.

We all met at West Drums Farmhouse for 🍰 🥤

Thanks to everyone who took part. The ☀️ was out, the 🍁 were falling and 😊 all round

Nuala is very happy to tell you all….we now offer 24/7 grazing all year round. All horses will have a stable but if they would like to stay out, they can.

We have livery spaces, DIY is £210 per month, this includes our own hay & straw. 😊

We have spaces for the hack on Saturday 19th, come and see how great our hacks are and see the livery.

** West Drums Hack 19.10.24 **

Saturday 19th at West Drums.

Come for 9.45am and meet round the farmhouse on horseback for drinks and warm sausage rolls before setting off. First group set of at 10am and then 5mins intervals

It’s around 6/7miles hack. The route is signposted and helpers will see you across roads.

Groups and individuals are welcome. £20 per rider

🌲 Route is practically all of road - take it at your own pace, in walk or at a faster pace

🗺️ You’ll be given a map when you arrive and Deborah’s phone number. There will be signs up to follow too.

🐎 Maybe the last time for a big hack before fields are ploughed up

💦 You’ll go round a pond but no water crossing

🚙 Plenty of parking, toilet on site, water tap and muck heap for any mess

🐎 Saturday 19th - West Drums Hack - starting at 10am, with a 6-7 mile route round stubble fields, tracks and grass tracks. Road crossings will be manned. Come in groups or individuals, register interest with Deborah 07725325340. £20 each.

🍕 Last week we held a Pole Work and Pizza night for the liveries

🍕 A night of walk & trot over poles

🍕 Followed by food in the Bothy and we didn’t need the heater on. Hope this good weather continues

Taking advantage of the Summer’s day yesterday

All grass hacks got a chop and then onto paddocks to cut down the weeds.

If anyone is looking for safe hacking around grass tracks and fields, contact Deborah.

⭐️ DIY spaces at West Drums ⭐️

West Drums Livery is now a DIY Livery. West Drums Livery is a quiet yard, it’s not the main farm so the farmers only come to see to the crops and leave. We have 🐄 in the sheds all winter.

Our DIY includes

🌲 Straw bedding
🐎 Hay
🌲 Stable with rubber mats
🐎 Field with electric fencing
🌲 Turnout all year
🐎 24/7 grazing April to October or later depending on the weather then stabled over night
🌲 Bothy with toilet and shower and a heater - needed in the winter to have a coffee after a hack and get heated up

🌲 Indoor arena
🐎 Outdoor arena
🌲 Grass Showfield with dressage markers and jumps out, open April - September
🐎 Lots or on site hacking
🌲 A 15minute walk hack to Montreathmont forest, where you can spend hours around the tracks and jumping logs

The last ever Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials did not disappoint.

Luca 🐾 enjoyed walking the challenging ‘stars’ cross country courses. The uneven terrain, hills
and sharp turns make it an unforgettable Highland estate course.

SDRC Working Hunter 2024

On Sunday SDRC held their annual Working Hunter competition here at West Drums. With over 60 entries and qualifiers for the last Blair show, it was a full on day.
