Rain, rain go away, come again another day! 🌧 The wet weather throughout February put a literal damper on our sand school development and things are running a little bit behind schedule because we simply couldn't progress with the amount of rain we were getting.

We wanted to thank the community for their interest and let you know plans are still underway and we hope dryer days throughout March and into April allow us to bring you Mountain View Equestrian's sand school and arena hire sooner rather than later.

Time for a spring clean? Maintaining your tack isn't just about how it looks, it's about ensuring it performs well and is safe to use so today we're sharing a simple tack tick list reminders to get you started.

1) Start soft. Use a soft brush to remove dirt and dust.
2) Disassemble. This takes time but will keep your tack lasting longer as you remove all fittings and take apart bridles to ensure every nook and cranny is reached.
3) Use the correct product for the correct part. Metal cleaner for metal, leather cleaner for leather
4) Inspect regularly. Look out for cracked leather, worn sticking, damaged hardware especially on areas prone to wear and tear and critical for safety.

Are you aware of the rules of the road?

When you're passing horses and their riders you should slow down to 10 mph and leave 2 meters. British Horse Society have shared some jarring statistics that should encourage all road users to follow these rules. The campaign is working to make needed changes to British roads with educated, information and laws like Rule 129 of the Highway Code.
