Spotty’s gang were feeling rather fresh in the morning mist !

Minus 6 this morning… luckily I salted some of the yard last night so we have walking areas as it’s like an ice rink , thankful for being next to the river for water !

Our dentist Peter Hancock has such a kind way with the horses .. Lucy was terrified of the dentist when she came to us many years ago and had to be sedated but with gentle persuasion she actually relaxes when being worked on , Peter also made time to explain teeth to one of our staff Sophie who is training for her BHS exam. Great guy !

Even in mid winter you can appreciate such a beautiful place where we are located in the Crai valley, I walked the disused railway line above us and you can look down and see the yard in it’s quiet peaceful location #breconbeaconsnationalpark #breconbeacons #bannaubrycheiniognationalpark

Established in 1989 , Happy Horse was the first private retirement home for horses in the UK. The home is a ninety acre farm situated in a peaceful green valley, with lush, rolling green fields surrounded by mature trees and hedges. It is set in the heart of a National Park, in the midst of beautiful, spectacular countryside.

Our purpose is to create a haven where owners have the opportunity to retire their horse with maximum care and attention.

The Staff are highly qualified, motivated and committed to caring for our elderly equines.

Horses come from far and wide because of the reputation and trust we have built up over the years, at Happy Horse they return to their natural lifestyle and herding instinct to enjoy their twilight years.
