FREYA - red Labrador - 5 months old (born in May 2025), fully vaccinated and microchipped. She will leave with a spaying agreement.
Freya needs a home that knows and understands this breed and one that is prepared to give her the time and attention she needs. She gets bored so needs something to do.
She needs a home that is not going to be leaving her for long periods of time - she gets bored.
Freya is adorable, full of fun, mischief and has lots of love to give.
She does know and understand some commands and is house trained to an extent. Loves her walks, has boundless energy and sniffs for England.
We are ideally seeking a family home with children 5+ or older. Freya has shown no signs of aggression with any of the other dogs here so she could go to a home with another dog provided they are neutered. Cats and other small furries are unknown and untested.
A secure garden with minimum of 6ft fencing is required.
Contact Wallace Kennels - she is in Essex so you would need to be prepared to travel to CM15.
An application form is required in the first instance but do not apply if you are currently away or will not be around in the next few weeks.

** HOME PENDING **

SPECIAL CASE no.3 - ♥️HARRY♥️

This little boy really does steal your heart he is just so totally adorable with not a care in the world however:-

When we took him to the vets to be neutered he nearly died, it was very touch and go for a little while but they managed to get him back and he has recovered well albeit it was discovered that he has severe lock-jaw and despite a course of treatment which should/could have worked has not so Harry is not able to open his mouth enough for any medical tubes to be inserted so no more operations. Likewise, all his food has to be soft and mushy so he can slurp it up which he does with ease. Shouldn't laugh but watching and hearing him bark is hilarious but he has mastered that. Absolutely nothing seems to bother him. Obviously he can't pick up toys unless they are squidgy and on the plus side you won't get bitten not that it would be on the equation as he does not have a bad bone in him. You may get loved to death and will need lots of time for cuddles as that is by far his favourite thing to do, the more he gets the happier he is.
Harry has so much character and who ever meets him will see this for themselves.
He was very thin when he arrived and although he has not put on masses of weight he is very slowly gaining some with frequent small mushed up meals throughout the day.
He is a good boy in his kennel so has been house trained.
He walks nicely on the lead and travels well in vehicles.
Cats and small furries are unknown and untested.
As Harry cannot be neutered he could not go to to a home with a bitch that is not spayed and we would rather not home him with another male. We think Harry would prefer someones sole undivided attention.
Children 5+
A secure garden with adequate height fencing is a must.
We would ideally like to see Harry go to a home where he is not going to be left for long periods of time throughout the day.
Contact Wallace Kennels - he is in Essex so you would need to be prepared to travel to CM15.

SPECIAL CASE No.2 - updated

This is Mikey - 7 month old Jack Chi - microchipped and vaccinations started. Can't currently be neutered so will leave with a signed agreement.
When Mikey was found he had balance problems, couldn't even walk in a straight line, his eye sight was not great and hearing hit and miss so he spent just over a week at the vets undergoing tests and treatment.
Since he has been in kennels he is not on any medication and other than being a proper wriggler when trying to get him to be still for a photo you would be hard pushed to know there was ever a problem so his medication seems to have done its job, he also responds when called and certainly seems to find things. He could have had a bad knock or fall. I am just being honest with the condition he was found in but you would have been none the wiser without it ever being mentioned, he is just a super cute little bundle of energy and entertainment.
Mikey is still a pup so wants to play, wants to get up to mischief, likes to be vocal chatting away to his new "neighbours". After a couple of meet and greets unfortunately Mikey does need to be the only dog in the home.
He is a friendly little boy. Needs a bit of a house training refresher. Likes going out for his walks and has no problems travelling in vehicles.
Cats and small furries are unknown and untested.
Any children in the home need to be 5+
A secure garden with adequate height fencing is a must.
We would ideally like to see Mikey go to a home where he is not going to be left for long periods of time throughout the day.

SPECIAL CASE No1 - please read all before applying.

This is OLIVE. Miniature smooth Dachshund. She is 3 years old, fully vaccinated and microchipped but she CANNOT be spayed nor can she be bred from both the latter could potentially kill her.

When Olive arrived in early August we noticed a problem with how she was walking and she was not comfortable being picked up. Initially a course of pain relief and kennel rest was prescribed followed by scans and x-rays. It was quite clear there was a problem with her spine. In fairness this is a common breed problem. After the rest period we had a trip to another vets for a CT/MRI scan (our vets do not have those machines - they should do), lots more kennel rest and higher dose pain management was prescribed and it was confirmed Olive had a problem with the lower discs in her spine. Then in September our vets made us an appointment to see a specialist at the Queens Veterinary School hospital in Cambridge to do a procedure called percutaneous intra-discal chrondroitinase injection which involves delivering an enzyme directly into the damaged intervertebral discs. Professor Freeman was fantastic and in his expert opinion decided after further examination and looking at her with his hi-tec equipment that she did not need any operations and she was to come back to kennels have more rest, medication and go from there, which is where we are at now.
We have been carefully nursing this gorgeous little girl for the past 2 months but she now needs to have a life albeit a careful one.
Olive is super people friendly and very affectionate. She is now loving having her short lead walks around the garden giving her a break from kennel rest. She is currently off all pain relief and is managing as if nothing was ever wrong.
As mentioned at the start, she can't be spayed as that involves lying upside down on her back legs akimbo which could then cause a problem again to her spine. The act of getting her pregnant could cause another spinal problem and if that didn't then giving birth certainly could so both are out of question. Olive doesn't need wrapping in bubble wrap but her new owner needs to be extremely aware that this breed do have his problem and they should not be jumping on and off furniture, flying up and down stairs or doing anything really which could aggravate the spine.
We have found her to good around most dogs and know she will be fine with children 5+ although we would prefer older kids or none.
She travels very well having been on a fair few trips back and forth whilst with us.
Cats and other small furries are unknown and untested.
We would ideally like to see Olive go to a home where she is not going to be left for long periods of time throughout the day.

MAGGIE - Pocket Bully x Old English Bulldog (no bigger than a Springer Spaniel but broader), 2 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Maggie is very playful and loves playing fetch and tug of war. She is rather partial to ear scratches and chest rubs.
Very food and toy motivated which is helpful for improving her learning skills.
She likes long walks but is strong and when on a mission is a bit of a puller.
Very friendly girl who loves cuddles and bird watching.
Unfortunately Maggie is NOT that dog friendly and can be reactive towards others so will need to be the ONLY dog in the home.
She does not like cats or shouting.
Maggie does know and understand some commands but it is recommended that on going training is carried out and that she is kept on the lead at all times whilst out and about.
A secure garden with minimum of 6ft fencing is required.
Any children in the home need to be dog savvy and 6+ or older.
We would ideally like to see Maggie go to a home where she is not going to be left for long periods of time throughout the day.

We thought that maybe someone would have a soft spot for an old girl but sadly there wasn't 😥
GRACIE was an unclaimed stray. Her microchip details were out of date but stated she is 10 years old. She came in with a hernia as well as skin tag on her a**s so we had both of these removed and she was spayed at the same time. It is never great to be a putting a 10 year old through anaesthesia but she recovered well and what Gracie needs now is her forever final home and comfy warm bed.
Although Gracie was found with another dog they decided they were no longer friends so we think it is best to place Gracie somewhere as the only dog in the home, she may well tolerate a placid male dog but her previous "friend" was too much for her and basically got on her nerves.
Cats and small furries are unknown and untested.
Any children in the home need to be 5+
Gracie is spotless in kennels so fully housetrained. She travels well and walks nicely on the lead. She is still a strong dog and does pull on occasion.
A secure garden with adequate height fencing is a must.
We would ideally like to see Gracie go to a home where she is not going to be left for more than a few hours.

DAPHNE - Whippet 2-3 years old, microchipped, vaccinations started. Will leave with a signed spaying agreement. Can leave from 17th October.
Daphne has been with us a little while now as she arrived pregnant hence she will not be leaving spayed but with a spaying agreement for this to be done in around 3 months time. Daphne will NOT be able to be homed with any un-neutered males.
She is extremely people friendly, ever so loving and affectionate but very hit and miss with other dogs and definitely not cat or small furry friendly. We think she will be better being the only dog in the home for now until all of her hormones have settled back down and then maybe a placid non-dominant friend could be found for her.
100% Fully house trained, will bark to let you know she wants to go out. Travels well. Walks nicely on the lead.
Any children need to be 5+
We would ideally like to see Daphne go to a home where she is not going to be left for long periods of time, she really does love human company.

Are you up for a challenge?

BENTLEY - French Bulldog, 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and he's a proper little s**t so needs an owner used to this type of dog.
Bentley has guarding issues with his "space" be it a crate, a kennel, his room basically anywhere that he is shut in or where he feels enclosed. Approaching that space he behaves like a rabid beast on crack but open the door, let him out and you are able to carry on the day as if nothing has happened so for a dog that has found himself stuck in the kennel system it is very hard.
There is a very nice dog inside the little monster that we see most mornings. He goes out quite happily with the dog walkers without issue. He loves his toys especially stuffed ones that he can rip apart, the quicker the better. He loves his food and treats and takes them nicely.
If you feel you are up for a challenge then this is the ideal dog for you. He will need a home where he is going to get the love and attention he needs as well as the right amount of exercise and stimulation. He has obviously previously been shut away for hours in a small space which has caused this hatred so maybe not go to a home where he will be left for long periods of time.
Definitely no children under 8 years old, older or none preferred.
Cats and other small furries are unknown and untested.
A secure garden with minimum of 6ft fencing is required.
Contact Wallace Kennels - he is in Essex so you would need to be prepared to travel to CM15.
An application form is required in the first instance but please don’t apply if you are currently away or will not be around in the next few weeks.
